There's also a pretty fair gap in terms of alerting other AI when you're trying to take down one silently, in a way that feels natural and not abusable. The AI has a good mix of aggression and not just charging at you to suicide, tending to stick together in groups when appropriate but will move around a lot more when alone. The paths the AI takes tend to have some good variety, and they'll pretty often wind up flanking around behind you. They react to sounds pretty well while already alerted and chasing you down, but not while idle.It's also one of the very few games where the AI turning its head to look around determines what it can see.It's well designed, reasonably complex without being a pain for players to interact with, and fits the role it has pretty perfectly. Obviously they need to be an obstacle as much as anything most of the time, but designing for the enemy's role is a part of good AI.
