It really gives an extra use to the priest class. And then you can also choose to dedicate your worship to specific gods and then if you attend the sermons of those gods you get more buffs and if you do specific stuff that god likes you rank up and you get your own prayer spells to buff yourself.

And i had a similar idea to that a while ago. Like imagine there is a Priest class, they have a curch or some kind of holy site or some kind of academy or guild. If you play Priest class there is your trainer and all that is. And the building in the game is not just NPC's its run by actual players, and the players have actual roles within the church where they can affect how the Priest class will be for everyone on the server. And they can affect what spells can be learned by the worship they do, and what items they can create, use and so on. And things like buffs as well. Mechanics like this gives the players rank and status within the game that also comes with responsibilities and duties in the game which means they actually impact the server and players in the game. These days in modern MMO's rank is just how many monters you can kill so that someone can right click and read the info which don't really matter all that much. And there is tons of things to latch on there that spans in to different mechanics. Things like collecting materials for potions and and trade and so on.
