On top of players obviously getting better at the game over time knowing how to exploit the map and punish every strat.The shitty netcode is the ultimate problem and even without high ping players making it hard to avoid trade damage, more players makes it laggier and easier to die before a good play turns into a great one. The netcode even enforces the same meta as vanilla where lowest TTK or instant kill capable weapons remain the best options because they will minimize the return damage you take, especially with headshots.

The planar reflection is also not mine but https://github.com/V-Sekai/godot_planar_reflection which also requires a patch to godot itself for oblique camera projections plus some fixes I did myself to make the skybox render. The VRM and mtoon shader are also maintained by vsekai, as well as the underlying skeletal modifcations that make the IK and finger tracking (from openxr skeletal) work. So basically I've just been stitching together the vsekai devs' stuff. But now I can make a 1st person anime grill game instead of more boring floating hands. 5 more days left.

Samsung was fucking retarded and could have fixed the comfort issues largely with actually putting padding on the fucking front halo mount instead of the thinnest dogshit piece of foam they could find to make it look sleek or some bullshit, and the addition of a top strap also helps even if I don't normally crank it down hard enough to do anything other then help to stabilize the headset a little when looking from side to side. It's just as wearable as my Q3 with the Kiwi strap at this point, though I'm still contemplating doing the hackjob mod to put an AVP dual knit on it just because it's going to be a good headset for a long time going forward and not having a knob at the back would be nice for laying down or sitting in a chair with a backrest. The real open question about it is whether Google is going to get it to have as good SLAM tracking as the Quest does, since it does suffer from very imperfect tracking occasionally where my vision will be swimming around in a circle while I'm not moving at all, and if they'll allow it to play as nice with PCVR as it does with native apps, since VD has some weird quirks and issues that it doesn't on the Quest, largely pertaining to the controllers and hand tracking. I haven't tried the Steamlink 2.0 hacky workaround you have to do to get it to run on the GXR to know if it's purely the headset, or if the gay goblin's software is bad as well.

frame isn't coming out by the end of the year at the very earliest. once they source the ram they have to begin production and distribution which takes time. they also cannot just instantly start production. i can't imagine valve is making these things themselves, they put an order in with a factory to make it which means the factory needs to fabricate all of the equipment required to produce steam frames and retool their production line. valve also has to wait in line behind whatever other companies (usually smart phone) that currently have orders in the queue. not only that but once ram does go down in price there's going to be a ton of companies just like valve who are ready to restart production of consumer electronics which means those factories are going to be flooded with orders. it's the same reason that when there's a shortage of nintendo wii's or switches nintendo cannot just instantly start producing more to meet demand.
