this season is really lacking a good gimmick, it all just feels so bland. the theme of "showdown" is pretty generic already since pretty much every season involves some kind of showdown between le good guys and the enemy faction of the season. plus they've done the whole warring faction thing way better before in c2s2 or c3s2 with a better themed map + NPCs the gameplay gimmick of rivalries is fine i guess, but we've had bounty boards in the game plenty of times before so bringing them back feels like a return to status quo more than a big new addition

I noticed ranked quests format stayed the same despite huge backlash and this whole season is very comp feeling to it. It makes sense that they would incentive us to play the game and give rewards but the fact that sweats will grind regular BR for this means that every game is going to suck now. The casuals will be targets for kill farmers, all by design. I hate the direction the game is heading in desu. A little off topic but This shit happened to me for WOW, played since 2004 and the raiding scene got so up its own ass with elitism and gatekeeping that the community is shit now that the game is basically pay to win on many levels. In that case it is better to just do what you find fun but when the main game itself becomes incredibly annoying and elitist you don’t have much choice except to leave and unplug to play something comfier.
