I actually have to admit the story is way better than I expected it to be. The comedy hits especially with Scarlet, all the main cast is extremely likeable, the story concept itself is interesting (maybe just because I'm a sucker for time loop shit), and the pacing is great, even filler chapters are fun because of the aforementioned dumb comedy characters. I'm only on chapter 2 so I hope it doesn't go downhill

So I don't see them as conflicting, they all focus on different aspects of a character's build. I will say the one issue though is the game doesn't really make it clear how to advance your power level so it can get really confusing. I've seen people who think they are hard stuck and can't increase their team's power level without waiting for the idle rewards...but they never did Journey and have no equipment.
