I know a lot of it just comes down to the constraints of working within the MMO framework but they did it so poorly that they ended up with a really shallow world to the point where no one gives a shit about the story or characters anymore. Even just the romance side of things feels toothless and Nu Disney. They could've gone in some really insane directions that would've gotten the community pumped like Thrall and Jaina finally hooking up and all the fallout from cheating on their partners or Arator and Alleria doing some kind of incest thing because they were separated for so long, just anything that would've made the world controversial and interesting like some of the wild shit we get in other fantasy games but nope. We only get stupid stories with no weight to them. Talking to a dragon that's been around since The Sundering should have weight, we should feel like we're talking to something truly ancient and almost beyond our comprehension but instead they just sound like larping Starbucks millennials.

So real question how on earth does anyone make gold in the game these days?Early in WoW I use to grind mobs for elemental drops, but it was slow and terrible. TBC and WotLK I did dailies and reps on like 8 characters, it go really dull but worked or the time and some auction house. Later I farmed the shit out of old materials like cloth and transmogs because I liked doing old content. WoD destroyed the farming of old materials to an extent but in WoD I had an army of professions leveled and ways to get materials for basic goods, still have every profession up to then and most were leveled back in the day so I have old receipes. I keep trying to sell stuff to clear out old banks and alts, but I can list a bank worth of shit and not much moves. Slowly enough sells that the numbers go up but its weeks of relisting to make 1000g, could have just farmed mobs. Nothing unusual ever sells thats worth much. Is it just because its the start of a new xpac and people aren't looking for leveling gear or transmog/collection shit or is the AH just fucked now. Getting tempted to just disenchant anything not some unusual high price thing and sell the mats and go back to alts leveling.
