Based on the rate of increase by 2AM UTC it may reach around 55k players, though 2AM UTC is also the turning point where peak time ends and it will decline. 55k is a pretty generous and optimistic guess when previous days didn't put up higher counts besides Sunday. Weekend won't increase it by much as has been proven by previous weekends, even with the Cryo map which is already alienating solo players and is designed in a way that random fill groups will still be gimped because they will have 99% retards in the matchmaking pool. If Sunday has another increase it will still stall just short of 60k is my estimate. This is disasterous that launch numbers aren't being beaten with cryo's release, when we've had precedent for that happening in Destiny with new raids releasing spiking the player counts higher than expansion release.In short Bungie is completely and utterly fucked, and if by some miracle Sony lets them crawl their way to Season 2 a simple night time version of an existing map will not sustain the players for 3 more months. Game will be dead by year's end if not sooner.

But Cryo is essentially only available to 3 man pre-made squads and solo players are SoL and are stuck playing Outpost for the billionth time. The night time marsh would have to have better loot than Outpost which I doubt and so it begs the question why the map even exists other than "variety", which is the same problem Destiny 2 has with The Portal where you have all these activities but there is no specific reason to engage with any of them other than "because I want to" or "variety".
