Not particularly hard, just super annoying enemies. I've played through everything except for the last area of act 3, and I still get annoyed by crater whenever I need to go through it.
For me, the least fun areas, in order:
The Future: Feels like every enemy here is designed as a fuck you to a particular thing. Projectiles? Fuck you. Magic? Fuck you. Electric? Fuck you. Multihit? Fuck you. I've been farming the route for rare furniture and I'm tired of the shit. Even the enemies in the area after are less annoying. Sucks, because I really enjoy the other route in act 3.
The Crater: this is the first area that really forces you to change up not only how you play but how you build. In act 1 you can basically do whatever you want. In Desert you'll want to bring water and/or a healer. Even in the Bunker, it's more about changing up your playstyle rather than your builds. But in Crater you get fucked for daring to cast spells, for getting close to amoeba, for being a rock and getting eaten, and the boss requires you to be able to hit a specific number of times (better not have uncontrollable familiars lol). Hell, half the time enemies just kill themselves because of all the chain reaction retaliations. Oh and all the water stuff you brought for the Desert is actively detrimental here, unlike if you go the other route to the Core.
The Rift: Just lolsorandum reskins of previous (mini)bosses, and god forbid you look away for half a second in a turn based game and miss what form the boss is supposed to be in so now you need to look that shit up just in case it'll reflect all your attacks or something.

I highly recommend Lucid Blocks, it's so much more than "minecraft but trippy". I had a wonderful time with it.
imo it solves minecraft's "infinite" problem by having your base be detached from the overworld so you can explore the bizarre worldgen to your heart's content without having to carry all your things with you/move your entire base.
It looks and sounds perfectly surreal. The crafting system seems esoteric at first but is pretty consistent with its logic.
10/10, more games should be consistently weird and wonderful like this one is.

And so far the story just feels a little awkward on account of the silent protagonist. The fact that the one chick implicitly trusts you to be let in on the Union plan would be a lot more believable if your character actually talked and gave her reason to trust.

I'm a weirdo with weird taste in games, but I'd be absolutely down for a game that slaps a My Summer Car or Voices of the Void style chore simulator on top of Shipbreaker.
Maybe change it so instead of working in the yard, you're flying your own ship to salvage abandoned vessles or maybe make that the midgame goal, to earn enough money to make it out of the yard and start your own operation

A fairly fascinating world stuck in a very bad game all around.
Would not recommend under any circumstances unless seeing a screenshot of it makes you have an orgasmic reaction.
I'd say the highlight for me was the crystal mines, joining the gods in there and then using his crystal powers to glass the rich mine owner into a statue. Of course that was only 1 dialogue option and never came up as power again.

Dread delusion had amazing world building but poor implementation of gameplay, it could have been much more had they ironed out the combat some more, and some interactibility between the quests and the resulting decisions with the world would have gone a long way. Ie the castle where you go rid it of the curse, it would have been nice for it to become either an infested/corrupted ruin or a proper settlement depending on your actions, rather than just being a nigh inconsequential moral "dillema" which effects or influence dont go further than the castle own premise.

That's not quite how it's supposed to work.
The container is not attached to anything pressurized, because it's not actually attached to anything else at all in that webm.
And objects lightly tapping you isn't supposed to kill your or even hurt you.
But the game's physics are not 100% consistent.

To be honest the time limit doesn't do much for me. Sure it sometimes forces you to make make decisions like which parts of the ship to prioritize when you know it's not worth it to scrap every bit of it.
But since you'd have to fuck up pretty bad to have a salvage run with negative profit, the only thing you're losing from suboptimal salvaging is time.
If the debt was more of a resource you'd have to manage it might make sense, but as is how much money you make seems to just be a somewhat arbitrary timer until when you presumably win the game. Sure all your purchases like oxygen and repair kits are deducted from it, but that's pretty negligible

My annoyance with it is mostly when I can't fit a ship neatly into a whole number of sessions. if you see a giant fuck-off monster and all you have is a 9mm revolver or a lever action shotgun, shooting wendigo is just a death sentence
current tutorial also puts a lot of emphasis on stealth and it is still the best way to do things even in the lategame, because killing stuff takes ammo, and ammo is expensive and has a logistical footprint
and even if you would've managed to kill one of the deer things, you won't even know how to get stuff out of them because looting animal and monster corpses is a different thing to killing them

ULTIMATE Bug War.
It's very weird: very short, with a score system, the main character feels like Captain Boyington from that post-WW2 propaganda show Baa Baa Black Sheep (aka I keep expected to find real, historical record showing she was a pain in the ass), and you can fuck yourself over by picking the worst weapons and being grossly underprepared for armored bugs.
And also the drops you get are random?
And I think your character goes comatose mid-campaign?
And the game exists in-universe so you frequently have devs barging in to tell you to engage in the Mobile Infantry?

Yeah choices didn't do much and the tutorial castle shows how the dev maybe thought he could do a deeper game with multiple ways to plays and lots of lore around to read. Instead he spread what little he had paperthin.
I helped the harvest god but all that happened was one guy in a shack transforming and the trees growing free heals as fetus fruits. I helped the entombed one but it just made the silver queen castle inaccessible and nothing else happened. I made the clockwork king self destruct but again nothing actually changed.

I thought doing literal fetch quests would be boring game and that it was an endless cutscene. I'm positively surprised with how they made trekking the terrain engaging, even if the writing is juvenile.
Though getting vehicles with what felt like unlimited capacity sortof puts a damper on it.

This has gotta be one of the most autistic Jarpig/ blobber/ multiple niggaz in a row bosses of all time. I got carpal tunnel from mashing my e key for 20 minutes. How about just do a check on your party and make him immune to primary damage source? Like, my party's main damage comes from my trait AoE. It should have just been immune to trait effects. Or if I was a caster, make him immune to spells for example. Then I would have had to be creative and try to kill him with melee or statuses. But nah, he's just immune to everything and you gotta wait him out. So tedious.

It's an okay survivorslike. It won't blow your skirt off, but if you wanna kill half an hour, it's fine. Heavy emphasis on metaprogression with like 3 different systems. Difficulty gets kinda wack, it starts out easier than pissing yourself, then at tier B it suddenly ramps up hard and you need to start actually making a proper build, but once you get your run's build set up you can just afk again. Spritework is kinda pretty. There's an achievement for bringing the framerate to 0.

I enjoy it. Every ship is like a little puzzle of how to best safely disassemble it, but also some knowledge carries over (for example some ships share the same thruster, so once you know how to scrap that, you can do it on any of them) so there is a sense of building up a skill in that.
The story is ...okay so far? It's not as bad as the one anon who goes ballistic about it every time the game is mentioned claims, but so far it's noting more than some background noise to give context to the gameplay. Which is fine by me, even if there might be some wasted potential in there.
My two gripes with it are that it handles the silent protagonist poorly, all the story bits that involve you felt very awkward to me. And half the story is delivered through post mission audio logs where you basically can't do anything while they happen. Not sure why they didn't play those during gameplay like the other half.

My only irl experiences with unions across my whole life has been bad ones. You aim for synergy. You don't go for ethereal cards AND power AND dooms AND Osty cards. You get some cards in Act1 which sort of go into one direction and try to go for a deck that works, skipping cards that don't fit the deck.

For example bone haunt is amazing IF your deck is built around souls, dead weight otherwise.

Yes. Also, Act1/2/3 are arbitrary references, but you WILL encounter cards that are good but just don't fit your deck, and you shouldn't grab them.
Also, realize that your deck loops. "more good cards" doesn't automatically mean better deck. When your deck is 10 cards there's a 10% you get a card, when your deck is 30 cards there's 3%.
In a way, the ideal deck is a perfect hand of 5 cards, in practice this is not real since mobs may fuck your deck up etc, but you want consistency.

You just knock them out, though i think it's still possible to kill them if you really want to, which does not end well. For some reason in 2 they just give you a shit ton of guns but they use "rubber bullets" that only knock people out that still fire like regular guns and have no difference in trajectory from a regular bullet.

The problem with the sts2 isn't just "infinite combo". The problem is that it isn't clear what the devs are doing.
Look at Ironclad: extremely underdeveloped archetypes except for exhaust. Most of the good stuff from sts1 are gone (power through is now a defect card, shockwave is colorless, dark power is a rare, corruption is a boss reward). The class got nothing else because exhaust is the only way to generate block and consistency. It's literally the class identity.
So they threw the class a bone and gave him secret ritual, but that enabled an infinite so the beta removed it.
What does the class do? Nothing. The damage buffs are meaningless because the other archetypes cannot block so the moment you hit act 2 it's a steep cliff compared to other classes.
What else? They also added a random exhaust mechanic to Doormaker. This is just a dumb "fix" for their "no infinite" or whatever rule. That simply doesn't make sense, it's part of the game, sure make it happen less frequently but a boss that hates on self exhaust/infinite that occur in 2 out of 3 runs on A10? That's unbelievably dumb compared to Time Eater. Even a normal deck will just randomly lose walking up to this guy when he exhausts their primary output card before they can do anything.
Of course it's easier to blame this on "lol chinks mad cuz 1 card nerf" but the reality is that the nerfs are incredibly dumb in optic.
Also people like to pretend that it's an overreaction since the patch isn't out but ... the game itself isn't out. It's in EA. If you want feedbacks then the negative reviews are the feedbacks. (of course it's easier to blame the chinks since they aren't heckin wholesome and supportive of our indie studio by giving positive reviews on an unreleased product ... damn commies)

Basically there's too much variety to play around in act 1 and potions are no longer a good fallback for an elite (fire/explosive pots feel significantly weaker in this game since enemies have way more bloated HP). Also I don't know why they removed artifact potion/relic ... if they don't want people to combo it with temporary stuff like Flex pot they could just make those a buff status (like Blasphemy in sts1). But removing artifact pot also means you really can't deal with debuffs anymore.

Playing Project Gorgon for 6 hours and I'm still unsure if I'm having fun.
It is very very very grindy, and seems like the multiplayer content are dungeons, and "hang outs" which are stuff like haring a bard player play or a psychologist player orate.

Vintage Story is perhaps the only game where I like how dense foliage looks and behaves. Something about the off-center and bigger than block plants just works. Aside from birch bushes, those look dumb and have don't resemble young birch trees in nature at all.
It also helps that the game has a really good winter. Hunting in winter is so easy when all the lush plants have wiltered, visibility is great with no cover for animals to hide in.

It's just a great all around action platformer. Excellent movement & grappling hook mechanics, nicely challenging, and both the techno-feudal aesthetic and the soundtrack rock. Where did you guys set up shop in Abiotic Factor?
On our multiplayer save we went for the security station and it's where I've decided to put my first little base in singleplayer aswell. Though I intend to move on soon, for the sake of variety, if nothing else. Maybe to the gym for infinite drinking water, haven't decided yet.
I don't know if the tram station will remain the central hub for the whole game, but it definitely makes sense to settle close to it for now.

There's an empty room up the stairs in the main hall, me and my 2 pals got in there at first and progressively advanced through the corridor of the upper level, moving barricades forward each time, when we were close to the end (hacking pad lvl4 I think?) we moved to a pocket dimension.

I really liked the concept of expanding more and more honestly. Absolute spaghetti hell regarding cables though.

To be honest this is the main appeal of the setting to me, to set up a base in such an unusual setting as an office space/research facility. The only other media I can think of that provides something similar is maybe a zombie apocalypse, though in those you usually want to get away from densely populated areas like office spaces.

Yeah I get you. I haven't seen much of the game yet, but I've been getting a similar feeling, how you're basically "supposed" to have your base close to the hub and everything else you do is just going on small exploration loops that eventually lead you back to the hub.
I guess some aspects of this are inevitable in this kind of game. Base builders that are open world like Subnautica or something obviously also have good and bad spots to build bases, but because of their more open nature there aren't many obvious central locations I suppose.

I have recently woken up. Day 11. Thursday. I'm still playing mostly blind and it's been fun, if not a bit stressful. I'm looking at that experimental options tab more longingly with each passing day but I've resisted thus far. I've been forced to sleep twice and I'm going to try my best to not have it happen again. It probably will though. I've had some hazy dreams. One even before I exhausted myself. The last signal I recorded made me actually pause the music I had on in the background to make sure it wasn't that. It was a Black Hole. It sounded holy and the image was 3 rings that looked like dotted lines. BE NOT AFRAID I'll be setting that aside for when I upgrade my processing. A few days ago I attempted to let the maintenance build up until my signal started to suffer... and it turned into a very long day. Oh, and the reason I let it build up was because I broke the ATV and spent a while checking and repairing the transformers because I remembered seeing a toolbox. So I got the ATV repaired and plotted a route of WV1EOSRNX. The ATV is back to 50% already. In between there somewhere I had a day where I was scared to leave the base at all, even to drop stuff on the dock for the drone to retrieve. The sun got a sensor bar slapped on it and all the foliage got cooked yellow. It would also force me to look at it and I didn't want to take a chance. Aside from the narcolepsy demon making my heart try to leave my body through my asshole, I'm rather enjoying it so far.

So, my first exhaustion came while sitting at the computer. It picked me up and spun me around so I could only see like the top 3/4 of it's head due to the back of the chair. Shortly after that, the sun went down far enough for me to climb the radio tower to flip the breaker for the drone. As I was climbing back down I looked up far enough to see what I thought was the narco-demon but later I fell over from starvation and saw pic related. I'm thinking it's the same thing and this is the player model? I've been blogposting it to some buddies and one who's played suggested that I throw a skull into the emergency shower in the main equipment room at the base. I found one while running around so I've made a backup save just in case. The first dream I had was walls closing in. The second and third came from exhaustion, but I think #2 bugged out because it was like 10 seconds and it went to the normal sleep time-lapse. Third was some columns and tall black stick figures. There are some odd things for sale in the store too, but most of them are prohibitively expensive for my current state.

Fun fact, if you win the dream minigame, you instantly get full stamina. It can save potentially hours of sleeping. Also, the shower upstairs will bring you up to 20 stamina if you're under, and using the toilet adds +5 once per day. You should save all signals on your computer especially since some of them are unique to story mode. You can resend the same signal on different processing levels and later it can give you a nice buffer so you have more time to do other stuff.

Have you cleaned your base yet? You can buy garbage bags and an item box, bag the trash piles, then sell back the filled bag for extra cash. And cleaning the bathroom gives you free points and an achievement. Also sell extra MREs. Half-eaten ones has the same price as untouched ones.

Unless you have mods changing how prospecting works, you probably shouldn't be prospecting that tightly. Especially not if you don't have any other reliable metal sources than panning. For example, here's my 100x100 prospecting pattern showing magnetite.

Areas with potential ore deposits are usually several hundred meters wide, so you won't miss anything by prospecting in such a wide pattern.

Somewhat by the numbers soulslike, even the intro cinematic is a copye of elden ring's. Still, I'm enjoying it for what it is - visuals are really cool, a lot of bright vibrant colors and breathtaking views. I have this incredibly deep hole right next to my house and I still wasn't able to find the bottom. Shame the ore readings here are shit, otherwise this would be the perfect mineshaft.
The only use I can think of is using it as a secret little shortcut. I live on a mountain, so if I take this shaft to see level and tunnel towards the shore it, I'll make it out eventually.

Been playing this for the past 3 days and been having a blast. Finished the explorer and crafting certifications. Gotta get 2 king fish to finish out angler, and waiting on trees to grow for the senior farming and need the full batch of gay sheep for ranching. Thanks again lad. I'll come back here if I flat out give up on figuring it out. Now that I've thought about it, it's that one in the garage and then the one outside (probably the bunker you've mentioned). I've still not found the incinerator that I've heard about for making fuel out of things, but I'll keep exploring around. As for taking the map, I did notice I can "grab" it and move it around before you mentioned this, so it's going to just stay on the wall because I don't want to lose it in some stupid fuck up like I did with my report from earlier. Also one thing that I absolutely love in base building games is slowly making your mark on the world. If the world is handcrafted it's a cool feeling to see your base location devoid of any strucutres on subsequent playthroughs and for procedurally generated worlds it's the reason I take so many screenshots to look back and remember how this place used to look.
It's so satisfying to slowly see my road network creep out from my base. At first I wanted to connect it to a small dock in the north, but building up a steep hill got annoying (and I had very limited stone supply from breaking boulders) so now the goal is to link up with my newly dug mine beyond the forest in the east, where all the green prospecting waypoints are.
And from there there are a few more points of interest worth connecting, though luckily most of them are over flat plains. Maybe a scenic road along the coast from the mine to the dock would be cool too

Emphasis on slow. Decorative building outside creative takes a very long time in Vintage Story, even without going into the endless possibilities of chiseling. it's a roguelite though, but you couldn't really tell that from the webms. map procgen is one of the best i've seen in any game, they feel like handmade filler levels which is the highest praise i can give to randomly generated levels. if you want a linear game, play overload

I mean sure, though my road network is progressing at a decent speed. I think the important thing that I'm still struggling with a bit, but I'm figuring it out is to a find a sweetspot between how much detail you want in your buildings so that everything isn't just a dirtcube vs how much detail is feasible so that every build doesn't take two in game years.
I guess it helps that I'm not interested in building big things like castles or villages, since it feels weird to be the only inhabitant, and making a somewhat detailed cottage is totally in the realm of possibility

Yeah, it's winter alright.
At least I don't freeze in my home anymore. I think my biggest complaint is about how short the days are becoming with nothing much to do indoors at the moment. By next winter I'll probably have a bigger house and enough crafting tasks to do while it's dark, but as is I just sit by the fire and wait. Which is cozy, but only for so long.

Yes, VS still uses the exact same spawning algorithm as Minecraft. You generally need light level > 7 to disable monster spawns (it's just harder to see the block light levels due to the smooth and dynamic lighting) or make the floor out of non-full blocks like bottom slabs, paths, fields or something.

You need 2 brass (copper+zinc alloy) plates to craft 2 torch holders. Those make torches perrmanent, unless put out by rain.

That's one of two the permanent lighting options.
The other is lanterns. Those require a candle (so you need bees), 2 clear quarts and a metal plate.

They don't. Try it out: If you have a fully enclosed room without any lights, try putting some blocks in front of the door. It'll turn pitch black even during the day.

Basically, all doors are non-solid for sunlight propagation purposes.
And sunlight affects food perish timers. That's why food cellars are most efficient when behind a short tunnel or at the far corner of a house far from exterior doors and windows.

Played the online version 2 years ago. My deed was supposedly made out of 5 people. Only met 2 because the others never logged in.

A bear spawned inside my valley while I was working on my windmill tower's roof and killed all my chickens. Had to lit up this entire area, hopefully it won't happen again.

On one side, it make underground expansion a pain, but on the other, the landslides make the "abandoned ruins" vibe I wanted look way better and natural. Will obviously post the results itt once im satisfied with the visuals, basically trying to make a ruined fort/temple which bandits or the likes took over and made a ramshackle camp out of. Basically just got part of the exterior "lobby" made so hardly anything worth posting sadly.

You need build one to make colored clay especially if you don't want a black roof. But it doesn't really help with making shingles faster. The most tedious part is the clayforming and you can only make it faster with mods.

Only pottery fired in pit kilns turns dark. Red clay turns into bright red roof shingles just fine and I guess blue clay would be the same story if I had any.

Kilns don't need refractory bricks. Those have more hp, but you can use regular fireclay, if you have trouble finding the materials.

Reinstalled Chinese Frontier.
I am very happy that you now, at all time, can display every ressource you need to build something. It's still a major pain to get every kind of beam and plank you need, but once you have all the ressources, it's smooth building from there.

Iirc there is also a more updated and stable equivalent somewhere but I cant remember the exact name. Basically allow you to tweak the game a ton, personally I made my own game way harder by allowing pure random enemy spawn (aka could get full armor late game guys from the get go), no slowmo on detection and giving enemies realistic eyesight (as in, they see you walking around from afar, they'll send someone to patrol to see who the fuck is that) and helicopters being random spawns, both in open world anf missions.

It takes 1.5 shingles to make one roof piece on average.
That's about 178 roof pieces per stack of clay.
Making a roof for my 9x15 needs 135 pieces plus a few.

Firing them however would take 6 pit kilns layered with 60 dry grass, 48 sticks, 24 peat.
I really need to figure out where to put that damn beehive kiln. I already built a steel cementation furnace and should have enough refractory bricks left.
