Has anyone here played rogue genesia?
>>561002242come on now, it was absurdly easy, anyone can get through it, did you even play it ?
>>561000535Not particularly hard, just super annoying enemies. I've played through everything except for the last area of act 3, and I still get annoyed by crater whenever I need to go through it.For me, the least fun areas, in order:The Future: Feels like every enemy here is designed as a fuck you to a particular thing. Projectiles? Fuck you. Magic? Fuck you. Electric? Fuck you. Multihit? Fuck you. I've been farming the route for rare furniture and I'm tired of the shit. Even the enemies in the area after are less annoying. Sucks, because I really enjoy the other route in act 3.The Crater: this is the first area that really forces you to change up not only how you play but how you build. In act 1 you can basically do whatever you want. In Desert you'll want to bring water and/or a healer. Even in the Bunker, it's more about changing up your playstyle rather than your builds. But in Crater you get fucked for daring to cast spells, for getting close to amoeba, for being a rock and getting eaten, and the boss requires you to be able to hit a specific number of times (better not have uncontrollable familiars lol). Hell, half the time enemies just kill themselves because of all the chain reaction retaliations. Oh and all the water stuff you brought for the Desert is actively detrimental here, unlike if you go the other route to the Core. The Rift: Just lolsorandum reskins of previous (mini)bosses, and god forbid you look away for half a second in a turn based game and miss what form the boss is supposed to be in so now you need to look that shit up just in case it'll reflect all your attacks or something.

I highly recommend Lucid Blocks, it's so much more than "minecraft but trippy". I had a wonderful time with it.imo it solves minecraft's "infinite" problem by having your base be detached from the overworld so you can explore the bizarre worldgen to your heart's content without having to carry all your things with you/move your entire base.It looks and sounds perfectly surreal. The crafting system seems esoteric at first but is pretty consistent with its logic. 10/10, more games should be consistently weird and wonderful like this one is.
Van der Waals tethers? I thought Van der Waals forces only matter on the molecular scale. All the Hab chatter should have been moved to the gameplay sections. Maybe they noticed in playtesting that people were paying less attention? No clue. And so far the story just feels a little awkward on account of the silent protagonist. The fact that the one chick implicitly trusts you to be let in on the Union plan would be a lot more believable if your character actually talked and gave her reason to trust.

>>561066978Huh that might actually be worth considering. Gotta check what other changes it carries with it. I wasn't even aware the game had a difficulty option. To be honest the time limit doesn't do much for me. Sure it sometimes forces you to make make decisions like which parts of the ship to prioritize when you know it's not worth it to scrap every bit of it.But since you'd have to fuck up pretty bad to have a salvage run with negative profit, the only thing you're losing from suboptimal salvaging is time.If the debt was more of a resource you'd have to manage it might make sense, but as is how much money you make seems to just be a somewhat arbitrary timer until when you presumably win the game. Sure all your purchases like oxygen and repair kits are deducted from it, but that's pretty negligible>>561067887To play on permadeath? Eh, probably. Every ship is like a little puzzle of how to best safely disassemble it, but also some knowledge carries over (for example some ships share the same thruster, so once you know how to scrap that, you can do it on any of them) so there is a sense of building up a skill in that. The story is ...okay so far? It's not as bad as the one anon who goes ballistic about it every time the game is mentioned claims, but so far it's noting more than some background noise to give context to the gameplay. Which is fine by me, even if there might be some wasted potential in there. My two gripes with it are that it handles the silent protagonist poorly, all the story bits that involve you felt very awkward to me. Both the president and the guy who handled the complaints were buddies of each others, and were huge two faced assholes. One was a 7 feet something delivery guy whod write you up for not performing to his liking (when inbrrality you were the one carrying all the weight of the gypsum panels), while the other was a disingenuous asshole whod force you to do taks he was tasked to do then pass the blame unto you when shit didnt work out, regardless of explaining to him shit just wouldnt work (ie forced me to botch repair on a warehouse floor by using premade asphalt in bags with a hand pilon on super dusty, broken concrete aka absolute shit job that would never stick, then try to put the blame on me when the next lift to enter the warehouse got its wheels caked in fresh asphalt...).And lets not go into the post canada union who had like 5 strikes in 2 to 3 years which paralized parcel delivery for the gov for ages because they wanted a higher pay that the budget just couldnt allow, etc ..Unions sound good on paper, but they almost always become a cancerous corrupt shitshow, especially the super big unions who grow outside their original company like the Teamster Union or FTQ (local construction union with ties to the hell angels biker gang), if you arent part of a soulless corpo and actually have a boss who walk the factory floor then there is no uses for a syndicate.

What should I focus on as Necro in StS2?I've been struggling to beat act 3. The boss with the face through the portal that hits like a truck is the most difficult one for me. I just don't know what ratios of draw cards, ethereal cards, powers, dooms, Osty attacks etc I should be using and when to skip cards.
>>561162787>I just don't know what ratios of draw cards, ethereal cards, powers, dooms, Osty attacks etc I should be using and when to skip cards. You aim for synergy. You don't go for ethereal cards AND power AND dooms AND Osty cards. You get some cards in Act1 which sort of go into one direction and try to go for a deck that works, skipping cards that don't fit the deck. For example bone haunt is amazing IF your deck is built around souls, dead weight otherwise.
>>561163541Are there cards I should just start skipping once I reach Act 2? I think I am just adding too many cards to my deck
>>561164016most common problem in sts
>>561164016Yes. Also, Act1/2/3 are arbitrary references, but you WILL encounter cards that are good but just don't fit your deck, and you shouldn't grab them. Also, realize that your deck loops. "more good cards" doesn't automatically mean better deck. When your deck is 10 cards there's a 10% you get a card, when your deck is 30 cards there's 3%.In a way, the ideal deck is a perfect hand of 5 cards, in practice this is not real since mobs may fuck your deck up etc, but you want consistency.
Can anybody recommend me a fairly basic set of essential Starsector mods? I haven't played it in close to ten years so I may as well be approaching it blind. I know it's fine without mods, but I want to make sure I cover at least the QoL and foundational stuff everyone assumes you're using before I dive back into more advanced shit like Nexerelin or whatever the new hot mods are.
Has anyone played Sworn? Is there more to the game than just beating the final boss like in Hades?

Hi
>>561179725What game?
>>561193276Let's get one thing cleared: These changes are only for THE BETA PATCHI have not opted in to Beta, so those changes have not reflected in my gameYou have to opt-in for beta and beta is there TO TEST SHIT AND SEE HOW THINGS WORK OUTThe retards crying and shitting their pants need to find a cheese grater and shred their gonadsAbout the actual changes... while I have not played it, I've read what the changes are and seen some gameplay through streamsIt's definitely an issue for one of its characters, IroncladIronclad needs a lot more tinkering/buffs from a balance standpoint... because going infinite is the only thing he has in higher ascension difficulties. Remove that, and he is BEYOND mediocre
>>561193276I shrug. I'm having a good time without putting together infinites, and I think it's mostly chinks getting butthurt about having to actually play the game. Just like they do every single time something like this happens in any other game.
>>561199409>only actually worthwhile mod for DysmantleWhat was the mod?>because he also made a cheat modI take a look and almost all of them are cheat mods. What was their problem?
>>561199409Must be chinese tryhards or something, because I recall playing that game and it was mostly a boring grind fest, especially the last part which is literally hoarding stuff by the ton to fill some arbitrary insane quotas which I cheated in using CE because FUCK collecting a thousand plant, a thousand brick, a thousand vegetable, etc, and I am not paraphrasing.
>>561219101 (me)As I was saying-Only people who have opted in to this public beta can even play with those changes that restrict infinite combosI have not opted in. Might choose to opt in after I've beat a10 on all characters, currently unlocked a5 on all of them
>>561194691>the game is fucking hard>manage to beat a run on my second playthrough on a character after unlocking all the othersOne loss per character, win on the 2nd run, and i never even played the first.
>>561124267You just knock them out, though i think it's still possible to kill them if you really want to, which does not end well. For some reason in 2 they just give you a shit ton of guns but they use "rubber bullets" that only knock people out that still fire like regular guns and have no difference in trajectory from a regular bullet. It's really kinda lame how they thought the game would be more popular if they just let the tards go gunning around, the game was a bit more interesting when you didn't just shoot every thing. You can even shoot the fucking bt's now.
>>561230740wow you won a babyrun so great

Hey Abiotic Factor anons, how is the game in single player?I'm currently in the middle of a playthrough with my buddies and it's a lot of fun, but it's kinda hard to pay attention to the story while we're also constantly shooting the shit in voice chat and you have little context for what's going on when people are interacting with NPCs while you're not there.Thinking of starting a second, parallel run by myself, though it sounds a little daunting having to do everything by myself, I like how we delegated different roles. I guess on the other hand, a single person also has a lower resource consumption
>>561188475Damn, that sounds tedious.>>561188689I was wondering if that was possible, especially since I could swear I had this happen to me a few times.

Would playing the game solo inform you of that? No I don't think sohttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fdNkFIZybcM&list=PLRdCeEziueA_jui038RlrBea7F4ik7DSx&index=10

>>561246249I am begging you change your weapons more often
The problem with the sts2 isn't just "infinite combo". The problem is that it isn't clear what the devs are doing.Look at Ironclad: extremely underdeveloped archetypes except for exhaust. Most of the good stuff from sts1 are gone (power through is now a defect card, shockwave is colorless, dark power is a rare, corruption is a boss reward). The class got nothing else because exhaust is the only way to generate block and consistency. It's literally the class identity. So they threw the class a bone and gave him secret ritual, but that enabled an infinite so the beta removed it.What does the class do? Nothing. The damage buffs are meaningless because the other archetypes cannot block so the moment you hit act 2 it's a steep cliff compared to other classes. What else? They also added a random exhaust mechanic to Doormaker. This is just a dumb "fix" for their "no infinite" or whatever rule. That simply doesn't make sense, it's part of the game, sure make it happen less frequently but a boss that hates on self exhaust/infinite that occur in 2 out of 3 runs on A10? That's unbelievably dumb compared to Time Eater. Even a normal deck will just randomly lose walking up to this guy when he exhausts their primary output card before they can do anything.Of course it's easier to blame this on "lol chinks mad cuz 1 card nerf" but the reality is that the nerfs are incredibly dumb in optic. Also people like to pretend that it's an overreaction since the patch isn't out but ... the game itself isn't out. It's in EA. If you want feedbacks then the negative reviews are the feedbacks. (of course it's easier to blame the chinks since they aren't heckin wholesome and supportive of our indie studio by giving positive reviews on an unreleased product ... damn commies)

I'm trying to find a 2000s era freeware 2D, pixely, side scrolling shooter. It was called something like Astatine. You control a slightly chibi tan guy with short black hair, red eyes and a trenchcoat. You start out waking up in a church outside of town at night with no memories, and use pistols, shotguns, machine guns to mow down an undead invasion while mostly moving right. The endgame is at a factory where you take out some monstrosity and then it turns out everything was all in your head. And there might've been an alternative ending where you fight some evil black mist entity in a weird dimension. It was all pretty edgy with lots of blood.

>>561342648>>561342380Sorry, what I meant was the run length in terms of grinding. >>561343210that part of the game is the same but there is more traditional roguelite progression in DD2 as well as an optional easy mode if you get tired of losing
Playing Project Gorgon for 6 hours and I'm still unsure if I'm having fun.It is very very very grindy, and seems like the multiplayer content are dungeons, and "hang outs" which are stuff like haring a bard player play or a psychologist player orate. But the map is so empty of everything. Mobs are sparse, resource nodes are even sparser.>>561177174It seems that higher level players drop stuff for noobs to use or something.
Vintage Story is perhaps the only game where I like how dense foliage looks and behaves. Something about the off-center and bigger than block plants just works. Aside from birch bushes, those look dumb and have don't resemble young birch trees in nature at all.It also helps that the game has a really good winter. Hunting in winter is so easy when all the lush plants have wiltered, visibility is great with no cover for animals to hide in.
>>561346546Forgot picture. Also it seems that the Guild Wars 2 4chan guild operates in Project Gorgon too.Any anon here plays Project Gorgon? Should I move to the multiplayer board?

Where did you guys set up shop in Abiotic Factor? On our multiplayer save we went for the security station and it's where I've decided to put my first little base in singleplayer aswell. Though I intend to move on soon, for the sake of variety, if nothing else. Maybe to the gym for infinite drinking water, haven't decided yet.I don't know if the tram station will remain the central hub for the whole game, but it definitely makes sense to settle close to it for now.
>>561381495Same place than you. I put furniture in front of the two other doors to block them, and there's a tesla coil ready to fry whatever comes in.
>>561381495Stone Temple.
>>561381779Neat.It's honestly just a really nice place. Has plenty of power outlets, a bathroom, a kitchen. Or maybe I'll find something else along the way>>561382227Haven't been there yet I think, but I'll keep it in mind
>>561381495I set up there first, then moved to that one room by the path to Manufacturing. Massive amount of room, adjacent lockers for lots of storage, and the retractable security grate on the front door keeps out most non-portal invasions.
>>561381495There's an empty room up the stairs in the main hall, me and my 2 pals got in there at first and progressively advanced through the corridor of the upper level, moving barricades forward each time, when we were close to the end (hacking pad lvl4 I think?) we moved to a pocket dimension.I really liked the concept of expanding more and more honestly. Pretty cozy for a starter base. Gonna set up some crops and after that I'm slowly running out of excuses to procrastinate the story. The fact that there is someone hanging out in my kitchen and potential future bedroom is both funny and slightly annoying.>>561383519Oh, I think I remember that place vaguely, I'll need to keep that in mind as a future expansion candidate.>>561384661>I really liked the concept of expanding more and more honestlyyeah that sounds really cool. The concept of "conquering" more of the facility sounds like a fun timeTo be honest this is the main appeal of the setting to me, to set up a base in such an unusual setting as an office space/research facility. The only other media I can think of that provides something similar is maybe a zombie apocalypse, though in those you usually want to get away from densely populated areas like office spaces.
>>561389857Probably a controversial take, but I kinda disliked how there's clearly a central place with a plethora of shortcuts, making for an ideal place to put your base close to.It'd have been cool to have the need to keep moving the base from A to B to C as you progress, in order to engage with the current content, and having to make an actual trip backwards in order to get other resources.
>>561388372Why's it always nazis when they effectively stopped existing in any meaningful capacity 80 years ago and not the ideology that genocided multiple times more people and continues to maintain large groups of public supporters to this day? You'd think the soviet union won the cold war or something and took over the world.
>>561391624I mean, what keeps you from making several outposts?
You know what? I'm tired of saving the galaxy. I'm gonna start a cult, commit profane acts in service of the unknowable darkness from beyond eternity, and go kill god.
>>561392351In practice? Nothing. There's just no reason to though. It feels silly, you'll be walking around, decide you need to go base, realize there's something missing from your outpost and that it's basically as far away from your "real" base and just go there.
>>561394792I mean, I built my base at the start, but whenever I try to go anywhere, I always end up out of ammunition, hungry, thirsty, cold, on the verge of crying with all my items almost broken before I even arrive to where I'm meant to go.Then I boot up Abiotic Factor and it's the same thing.
>>561391624Yeah I get you. I haven't seen much of the game yet, but I've been getting a similar feeling, how you're basically "supposed" to have your base close to the hub and everything else you do is just going on small exploration loops that eventually lead you back to the hub.I guess some aspects of this are inevitable in this kind of game. Base builders that are open world like Subnautica or something obviously also have good and bad spots to build bases, but because of their more open nature there aren't many obvious central locations I suppose.
>>561391663I'd say one big difference is that the reason for the genocides perpetrated by the Soviet Union weren't linked to socialism but were due to it being a Russian imperial project at its core, while the genocidal intentions of the Nazis are baked into the ideology. Also the world isn't as black and white as the internet would like you to believe. It's quite easy to be, for example, a socialist while also condemning the USSR

>>561388976>matethis you bruv?? (thank you)
>>561396387>Also the world isn't as black and white as the internet would like you to believeYet they regularly use nazi and fascist interchangeably despite those two things not being the same or even necessarily ideologically aligned.Communist states also almost universally carry out mass murders at least when they come into existence and genocidal intentions are effectively part of the ideology as a consequence of their goals even if it's not overt doctrine. It's just genocide targeted at people of specific ideology or class which many people for some reason find more palatable than racial genocide.

I have recently woken up. Day 11. Thursday. I'm still playing mostly blind and it's been fun, if not a bit stressful. I'm looking at that experimental options tab more longingly with each passing day but I've resisted thus far. I've been forced to sleep twice and I'm going to try my best to not have it happen again. It probably will though. I've had some hazy dreams. One even before I exhausted myself. The last signal I recorded made me actually pause the music I had on in the background to make sure it wasn't that. It was a Black Hole. It sounded holy and the image was 3 rings that looked like dotted lines. BE NOT AFRAID I'll be setting that aside for when I upgrade my processing. A few days ago I attempted to let the maintenance build up until my signal started to suffer... and it turned into a very long day. Oh, and the reason I let it build up was because I broke the ATV and spent a while checking and repairing the transformers because I remembered seeing a toolbox. So I got the ATV repaired and plotted a route of WV1EOSRNX. The ATV is back to 50% already. In between there somewhere I had a day where I was scared to leave the base at all, even to drop stuff on the dock for the drone to retrieve. The sun got a sensor bar slapped on it and all the foliage got cooked yellow. It would also force me to look at it and I didn't want to take a chance. Aside from the narcolepsy demon making my heart try to leave my body through my asshole, I'm rather enjoying it so far.
>>561430449Two weeks in and you already saw the Bad Sun? Damn, you lucky. Surviving it unlocks a special gamemode where EVERY day is a Bad Sun
>>561401282>oh no anon abuses the system and doesn‘t play it like I doNo one cares faggot, you are probably the same guy crying when someone doesn‘t play elden ring with an glass canon build. I fucking despise permadeath modes as I am fucking bad on it. Therefore, so I can still have the „oh fucking shit I don‘t want to do all that shit again“-feeling. I created only backup saves on specific occasions.
>>561431058Oh, so it's a vampirism quest. Neat. So, my first exhaustion came while sitting at the computer. It picked me up and spun me around so I could only see like the top 3/4 of it's head due to the back of the chair. Shortly after that, the sun went down far enough for me to climb the radio tower to flip the breaker for the drone. As I was climbing back down I looked up far enough to see what I thought was the narco-demon but later I fell over from starvation and saw pic related. I'm thinking it's the same thing and this is the player model? I've been blogposting it to some buddies and one who's played suggested that I throw a skull into the emergency shower in the main equipment room at the base. I found one while running around so I've made a backup save just in case. The first dream I had was walls closing in. The second and third came from exhaustion, but I think #2 bugged out because it was like 10 seconds and it went to the normal sleep time-lapse. Third was some columns and tall black stick figures. There are some odd things for sale in the store too, but most of them are prohibitively expensive for my current state.
>>561433827I also completely spaced mentioning these that I found. Originally, in the middle of the night while crashing the ATV.
>>561433827Yes, that's just the player model. Jumpscares everyone at first.Fun fact, if you win the dream minigame, you instantly get full stamina. It can save potentially hours of sleeping. Also, the shower upstairs will bring you up to 20 stamina if you're under, and using the toilet adds +5 once per day. Good for staving off Insomniac for a little bit longer if you need to finish something.
>>561431058Bad Sun is guaranteed to happen on the 24th of every month except December until you survive it once. Afterwards it's random chance.>>561430449>>561433827>I'll be setting that aside for when I upgrade my processing. You should save all signals on your computer especially since some of them are unique to story mode. >>561443915>those are more features of authoritarian regimesCommunist states are authoritarian more often than not, often the most authoritarian states in human history. It should be obvious why trying to force vast numbers of people to conform to an extremist ideology that is regularly opposed to human nature itself will involve a lot of authoritarianism.Achieving a state of perfect economic and social equality will always be impossible, and the genuine pursuit of such a state will always require excessive authoritarianism and excessive violence. As seen with the soviets and the kulaks, the khmer rouge and the "intellectuals" and the chinese commmunists and the "landlords", not to mention the countless other frequent and massive atrocities those states perpetrated against their people in their ideological pursuits.

>>561440625Ah ok, I thought you were trying to damage it so it would explode with the first impact. There's a minimum ramming distance, if you had moved away less during the interrupt it'd have had to pull back before charging you again and prolly would have ran out of AP.Sometimes I wish the game would show you the ranges for this kind of stuff, instead of having to learn through trial and error. >>561449096>>561450854>Prospect the whole island in a grid pattern maybe 100 blocks apartFor example, here's my 100x100 prospecting pattern showing magnetite.Areas with potential ore deposits are usually several hundred meters wide, so you won't miss anything by prospecting in such a wide pattern. However not all ores get all the way to green, for some rare stuff your best bet is finding any at all.
>mfw the fucking "crafting surface" requirement in Project Zomboid
>>561443915Socialism and Communism don't call for authoritarianism, but they implement policies which require authoritarianism. It's one thing to, in a capitalist system, raise concerns and complain about a specific corporation. You can call on people not to support them, you can stop the support yourself, yadaa yadaa. Utlimately most of the pressure is market pressure, if anything, you can pressure government to change legality regarding the corporation. When corporations are part of the state itself, complaints about the corporation are complaints about the state. The idea that police is there to defend corporations becomes actually real, calling for boycott towards a corporation is equivalent to calling for boycott towards a part of the state, etc etc.For an easier explanation you can just point to how in a capitalist system you can enable the sort of company structure that takes place in a socialist or communist system, nothing is stopping you from forming a cooperative or distributing the ownership of the project in whatever way you see fit. This is not true the other way around, which evidently paints the other systems as more authoritarian by default.
What have you consoomed during this sale bros?
Fun fact: temporal storms, regardless of their strength, last about the time it takes to pan 15 blocks.I've made an AHK macro just for this so I can afk them if I don't feel like grinding mobs.

>>561448541Enotria is self-published so that counts I guessSomewhat by the numbers soulslike, even the intro cinematic is a copye of elden ring's. Still, I'm enjoying it for what it is - visuals are really cool, a lot of bright vibrant colors and breathtaking views. I mean it's based on commedia dell'arte of all things so it kinda comes with the territory but still, the visuals and ost are carrying the game hard. Being only able to change your loadout including weapons at bonfires gets old though fast, thats my biggest peeve - then again, there's no equip load and you can switch freely between three loadouts with two weapons and four spells each so there's that.

As for taking the map, I did notice I can "grab" it and move it around before you mentioned this, so it's going to just stay on the wall because I don't want to lose it in some stupid fuck up like I did with my report from earlier. I did run the "new" route, but I've had to reload a few times before I went to bed last night to almost get back in time. So maybe that's something I need to take care of too.Though I gotta say, the idea of clogging the door and window up with hay in the winter to trap the heat does even sound fun thematically.
>>561550267Yes. Roof doesn't cunt for a roof, you need a ceiling. And also the room cannot be too big.
>>561550951The roof thing was a bug and has been fixed allegedly, though I'm still unclear on how it treats these corner blocks, since they physically show holes. As for size it's 14x14x14, I'm pretty sure my hovel falls below that though. I'll run some experiments and see what happens
>>561550267Yeah stuff all rickety doorways and other holes with hay. And make an attic so you have a proper indoor ceiling as well.Winter survival becomes incredibly less strenuous once you have an actual indoor space.
>>561551173The sides of the corner roofs aren't insulating. You'll need to put some inner corner roofs next to them. Only the full faces are insulating. The "/debug rooms hi" command will show if the room is valid and also where are the leaks. "/debug rooms unhi" to turns it off.
>>561552204>>561551895>The "/debug rooms hi" command will show if the room is valid and also where are the leaks. Also one thing that I absolutely love in base building games is slowly making your mark on the world. If the world is handcrafted it's a cool feeling to see your base location devoid of any strucutres on subsequent playthroughs and for procedurally generated worlds it's the reason I take so many screenshots to look back and remember how this place used to look. It's so satisfying to slowly see my road network creep out from my base. At first I wanted to connect it to a small dock in the north, but building up a steep hill got annoying (and I had very limited stone supply from breaking boulders) so now the goal is to link up with my newly dug mine beyond the forest in the east, where all the green prospecting waypoints are.And from there there are a few more points of interest worth connecting, though luckily most of them are over flat plains. Maybe a scenic road along the coast from the mine to the dock would be cool too
>>561553321One easy way to tell a room (and its quality) without console commands is looking at the food spoilage speed multipliers on containers.Though, at winter, you can't tell the difference from that. Only from above +5C. So it's mainly useful for determining how good your storage cellar works. But at least you can watch your body temp. If it goes down you're outdoors.
>>561553746>slowly making your mark on the worldEmphasis on slow. Decorative building outside creative takes a very long time in Vintage Story, even without going into the endless possibilities of chiseling. For example it's much easier to whip together a batch of cobblestone from leftover rocks than go through the autistic routine of first relieving full stone blocks and eventually turning them into ashlar bricks... Or just build a dirt cube.
Goddamn that's a big meteor. Already dug up 5 stacks of dirt and you can't even see the whole impact site. It's a bit silly that working pure meteoric iron is harder than normal iron, given that it was the opposite IRL.
>>561544783pretty much, but more modernmore stuff, better controls, a more thought out progression (every level has power pickups that significantly boost your damage output), smart ai and a good amount of polish for the most common 6dof pain with navigation and autolevelingit's a roguelite though, but you couldn't really tell that from the webms. map procgen is one of the best i've seen in any game, they feel like handmade filler levels which is the highest praise i can give to randomly generated levels. if you want a linear game, play overload>>561538432it's just you
it's also pretty hard and unforgiving, especially on higher difficulties
>>561560058looks fun
>>561555182Damn, something about playing it in such low resolution is super cozy. Is it a stylistic choice or out of necessity?I'm tempted to set the graphics to potato mode like this so I can turn up the view distance to max, since I got oceans on all sides and it would be sick to see the islands and mountain ranges in the distance.>>561554884I mean sure, though my road network is progressing at a decent speed. I think the important thing that I'm still struggling with a bit, but I'm figuring it out is to a find a sweetspot between how much detail you want in your buildings so that everything isn't just a dirtcube vs how much detail is feasible so that every build doesn't take two in game years.I guess it helps that I'm not interested in building big things like castles or villages, since it feels weird to be the only inhabitant, and making a somewhat detailed cottage is totally in the realm of possibility>>561554630Yeah, I tried that at first and it was kind of inconclusive. Using a command is fine for me, it doesn't feel like cheating, if it's just to check if the mechanics work the way I expect them to
so...is this game still happening or did they take the money and ran, joining the list of never-evers on my wishlist like radio the universe?
>>561567256>stylistic choiceThis. As long as the UI is native res, block games look more natural when rendered in low res. It also makes the block outlines for selection, smithing, etc thicker which I like.VS has a resolution % slider right in the in-game settings so you can easily try changing it.
>>561569226>VS has a resolution % sliderNice. I'll play around with it, thought it might take some getting used to.In general though I'm just in awe at how great this game looks
Yeah, it's winter alright. At least I don't freeze in my home anymore. I think my biggest complaint is about how short the days are becoming with nothing much to do indoors at the moment. By next winter I'll probably have a bigger house and enough crafting tasks to do while it's dark, but as is I just sit by the fire and wait. Which is cozy, but only for so long.
I doubt this kind of mine is period appropriate, but I like how it looks and it conveniently doubles as a quarry for all my road building needs.Just haven't decided what I'll decorate it with at the top yet. Some sort of roof would be nice, but I actually like how I can get some sunlight all the way down the shaft, so maybe I'll just fence it in

>>561569226I gotta say, it's neat, though I'm not sure which resolution scale to play on. >>561646078Probably to the shore from his island house?>mines in VS don't last enoughYou say that, but I've been mining one (1) ore iron vein for 2 years with no end in sight. Deep ore veins near y0 can be humongous.
>>561647041I only got surface mines. Even with heavy wood lamellar armor, I got killed the nanosecond I venture in a mine.
>>561647134Well yeah, surface metal ore veins are done in on short mining session. But deep near the mantle they can get huge, AND you need to light up the whole place as you go.
>>561647267Do light even matter? I've had crawlers and shitters spawning in my damn house. And not during a temporal storm, mind you.
>>561647350Yes, VS still uses the exact same spawning algorithm as Minecraft. You generally need light level > 7 to disable monster spawns (it's just harder to see the block light levels due to the smooth and dynamic lighting) or make the floor out of non-full blocks like bottom slabs, paths, fields or something.
>>561647480This is the part that is confusing, because here is my house without any torch. See how not dark it is? It's so not dark, my dark elf slave hisses at the all the bright light.
>>561647594>without any torchSo it's pitch black during night? Same rules apply as Minecraft, it's going to spawn monsters at night. You should at least have a torch in each room (7x7 or smaller) but larger rooms might need two or ideally a lantern/chandelier later on where torches can be reserved for kitchens/forges.
>>561647875More like I'm confused that it's not dark even during the day: there are no windows or anything. But I started setting up torches in every room, it's just a pain for long expeditions, since they die after 48 hours.
>>561647973You need 2 brass (copper+zinc alloy) plates to craft 2 torch holders. Those make torches perrmanent, unless put out by rain. That's one of two the permanent lighting options. The other is lanterns. Those require a candle (so you need bees), 2 clear quarts and a metal plate.
>>561648147Yeah, none of my mines has anything but quartz, so holders are not a solution.Best I can do is bowl+fat.
>>561648359That also works if you're not saving your fat for future mechanisms, but the light radius is pretty bad. Well, at least it's not as bad as candles. Those are basically purely decorative outside of lanterns/chandeliers.
>>561648501It's bad, but it lasts forever. Honestly I've been extremely unlucky with my current run: not cattail, no copper, very little tin... I had to cheat in all my ressources, even the soil. The only thing I had in abundance was clay.
>>561648595>had to cheatNo you didn't.Just walk further out. Bad starts might take a few deaths, but that's not the end of the game.I guarantee there will be abundance of all the basic necessities within 1 km the spawn if you're playing with default worldgen.
>>561631545Don't do that. That's cruel and unsual torture.
>>561647594Closed solid doors still let light through.>unless put out by rainNah, torch holders are rain proof.
>>561649218Nah, I did. Walked a large perimeter around my spawn, didn't find any cat tails, and I feared dying and respawning days away from my base, so couldn't go too far.>>561650796I see. I think walls also let some light through, during the day anyway.
>>561651727>I think walls also let some light throughThey don't. Try it out: If you have a fully enclosed room without any lights, try putting some blocks in front of the door. It'll turn pitch black even during the day.Basically, all doors are non-solid for sunlight propagation purposes. And sunlight affects food perish timers. That's why food cellars are most efficient when behind a short tunnel or at the far corner of a house far from exterior doors and windows.
>Detecting multiple leviathan class lifeforms in the region. Are you certain whatever you're doing is worth it?
Something is wrong. This is before I Montrésor myself in.
And this, is after I montrésor'd. I took out all the lights: torches, bowl of Nikocado Avocado matter. There's still natural light through the walls.I don't suppose it's because I use maple logs as walls?
i'm going to play this (it's free)
>>561647594The lightlevel is a lot less higher than Minecraft for mobs to spawn and animals to despawn. so much so that it is barely perceptible. So good luck.
>>561654364If it's something I need a console command to see...
>>561654364It's not, it's literally the same 7 light level threshold. The dynamic lighting just looks different from minecraft's "real" blocklights so it's impossible to tell without mods or meticulously counting block distances from light emitters.
>>561653321The right side looks brighter. What's over there?

In fact I think I already blogposted about my playthrough 2 years ago and bitched about how dead it was.>>561699148>vtubers followers and mmo playersDoes it count if I only follow 2 corpos and 1 indie? Also this is the first MMO I play since I bought a 50€ pack for GW2(which I already spent 50 when it came out way back then) and gave it another try like a year ago.But it was kinda like Wurm in a sense. There were hundreds and hundreds of players, but no one ever spoke or answered my noobish questions or offered help when asked.I guess at least half of those were bots.

>>561703194gw2 is like gw1, it's designed as a solo experience and any group play is incidental, except for dungeons. this is the game they made and the playerbase they cultivated.
except for endgame pve and pvp, i should say, both of those are team mandatory
>>561703386I played GW1 entirely alone and didn't get the appeal of dungeons. Makes sense.
>>561703491imo gw1 is the both fun when duoing on voice chat and you both have 4 heroes, that shit is peak
>>561703386>gw2 is like gw1, it's designed as a solo experience and any group play is incidental, except for dungeons. this is the game they made and the playerbase they cultivated. Are they?GW2 was my GW. I got peerpressued to play it, for then my friends to drop it in a week.It sat untouched since 2012 until last year. When it comes to multiplayer, I like coop heavy games and those in which you socialize. Even if I'm a huge sperg.Luckily for Tera I found a guild through a manga scanlation IRC channel.>>561703491>>561703587Is the GW1 remaster worth it?
>>561704162if you've never played it, play it, it's fantastic, especially from a game design perspective. everything is modular, there is insane customization and buildcrafting for an entire team. the campaigns, they didn't really know what they were doing until Nightfall so expect a much more retro experience if you want to start with Prophecies. i started in Factions which is also okay.
>>561703386I can't move on from FFXIV, I fear. I played GW2 and loved the exploration, but the actual game felt confusing. I got GW1 a while ago, but I never actually tried it.I do like that bloke tho, Rytlock Grimstone.
would you?
>>561706151Don't open your eyes. He IS nice, just clumsy.
i have gris lying around in my family library. it's a beautiful game. earphones mandatory.
>>561705191>>561704943I just wish I could find an active group in GW2.I'm shit at finding people to play because of sperg. And in the 4chan guild just ignore all your GWrelated questions or help and just use it as general lounge to relate how their day is going and what have they eaten for lunch today.I would try public guilds but I fear saying "nigga" or "retard" accidentally and getting kicked out, reported and banned.
>>561708987damn, fucker was 80% off yesterday
Guess it wouldn't be an inti creates game without a super mode that plays some jpop music. But i am having fun so far.kind of a bummer it seems it didn't do all to well, even for inti games. Though i remember there was some drama with the game being delayed on steam so that's probably partially to blame for shitty steam numbers.
>turn 1 >provoke>all of my gas masks provoke and cast Cyanide Gas (infinite ammo cuz of the lich)>1/4 chance to AoE kill rolled 10 times for free>also usually get a free cast of Nuke which inflicts Inverted which is arguably the most devastating debuff in the game >if some stragglers survive the smog, the gas masks bulk up off leeching buffs from poison damageThis build is so cheesy. >>561728949You know tons of artists do work in both realms at the same time right?
>>561728949Did you know the artist for adventure quest worlds animated porn before working for the game
>>561728949I am not sure what's your problem. Yes, steam requires a publisher field, and yes, indie games have no publishers so they often either duplicate the developer data or use it for self-promotion/aliases. That's a very common thing.Something tells me that how the field is used here is not a main point of tension for you.

My bombignants!
FUGA bear spawned inside my valley while I was working on my windmill tower's roof and killed all my chickens. Had to lit up this entire area, hopefully it won't happen again.
Also there HAS to be a way to automate roof shingle making. The entire process from clay molding to kiln firing is just too much.Maybe I'll finally get into serious industry and build a proper kiln, steel furnace and coke oven.
>>561575581Glass roof
>>561737243That's not my point. What I'm asking is why pick a publisher that exclusively does porn when you could pick literally any publisher who does not have that stigma.>>561739615Adventure quest is not published by a porn publisher. Everything is self-published by artix. It would be like if slay the princess was published by alice soft. When muscarine was hired to work on super neptunia rpg, he was credited as Adrian Silvera.>>561741206Steam allows self-publishing without any issue, in that case the publisher is critical bliss, a famous porn game publisher with literally no other safe for work game in their catalogue. >>561754947>Maybe I'll finally get into serious industry and build a proper kilnYou need build one to make colored clay especially if you don't want a black roof. >>561863395https://www.nexusmods.com/metalgearsolidvtpp/mods/45Iirc there is also a more updated and stable equivalent somewhere but I cant remember the exact name. Basically allow you to tweak the game a ton, personally I made my own game way harder by allowing pure random enemy spawn (aka could get full armor late game guys from the get go), no slowmo on detection and giving enemies realistic eyesight (as in, they see you walking around from afar, they'll send someone to patrol to see who the fuck is that) and helicopters being random spawns, both in open world anf missions.
>>561863794I'm guessing...
>>561864087>giving enemies realistic eyesightI always wanted that, but I never tried because I feared it'd make the game extremely annoying.

A stack of 64 clay makes 4x64 stacks plus 12 roof shingles, 268.It takes 1.5 shingles to make one roof piece on average. That's about 178 roof pieces per stack of clay.Making a roof for my 9x15 needs 135 pieces plus a few.Firing them however would take 6 pit kilns layered with 60 dry grass, 48 sticks, 24 peat.I really need to figure out where to put that damn beehive kiln. I already built a steel cementation furnace and should have enough refractory bricks left.
