Since Rider often reinvents itself every year, and the stories are serialised, you're encouraged to watch every week to see what's gonna happen next. Sentai, meanwhile, is a lot more episodic and has the same vibes between seasons, so they risk people going "I can skip this week's episode, there probably won't be anything interesting happening". Even if recent shows like Donbrothers and Kingohger did everything they can to shake up the formula, it was really hard to change the perception people already have of Sentai from its 50 years of non stop serialisation
