I feel like Yugi.dek is just two cards away from becoming coherent. All it needs is an Eternal Soul retrain that a) can special any "Dark Magician" monster from hand, GY, or banishment and b) can be activated the turn it's set for some trivial "yes I am actually playing Yugi.dek" condition, plus a DM retrain that on summon searches a Ritual of Light and Darkness card.Then it's any DM starter -> search Dark Magical Curtain -> summon the DM retrain -> banish it to make DMoD -> DMoD adds Eternal Soul retrain -> activate Eternal Soul -> special DM retrain from banishment -> add a RoLaD starter.Ritual of Light and Darkness makes a solid going first board, but it has trouble closing out games and can accidentally clog up your board with Magical Hats. That makes it fit perfectly with a Shining Sarc package, which you would also be able to search via specialing Shining DMG, getting her into the GY, and then bringing her back with Eternal Soul 2. Search Sarc, add Gandora, Gandora nukes the field and summons a Silent with Big Number, go for game. The only way it could fit better is if Mind Shuffle triggered in response to any effect so you could save your RoLaD ritual monster from the field nuke, but Yugi wiping Atem's cards from the field is thematically appropriate.

A show that puts being an ad first turns out like Vanguard where there isn't a single anime-only card, the plot warps around promoting the latest cards, and they make sure to show off the latest meta decks and directly tell the viewer how much stronger and better they are than the old cards.
