It's really like a fighting game sandbox where you get to play the game the way you personally want, even ignoring the tagging aspect if you really want to.This is a game that someone who loves pushing themselves in fighting games can explore forever. The biggest issues are monetization, bugs, and lack of characters. Skins/Bundles need to be about 20-30% cheaper, bugs need ironed out ASAP, and I can't wait to see what characters are getting added and how interesting their playstyles will be.The games bones are great. It just isn't a 1v1 game and people are actually fucking babies who would rather complain incessantly about the idea of having to learn two characters or god forbid actually defend against a block string for longer than 3 seconds, rather than actual just play a video game for fucking fun and learn how it works. Also many former UMV3 FGC players and EVO winners are grinding at it so that's definetely a plus
There’s really not another modern FG that’s like it, #1 it’s free so there’s literally no reason not to play it, I have bought a couple skins but all the characters I’ve just played enough to unlock naturally. #2, the ground movement feels great and I love games with good movement, the air movement sometimes leaves something to be desired but it’s also probably by design. #3, the defense being strong while also being interactive as the person playing offense makes it way more interesting. Parry is my favorite “defensive” mechanic in any FG I’ve ever played, and its existence + pushblock and break means it’s almost impossible to just autopilot your way to a win in every match, needing to actually think about counter play both on offense and defense is so nice. #4, while there aren’t many characters, the ones that we do have feel amazing and unique. I’m a Yasuo and Darius FS player and I honestly feel the power fantasy of the two character is fulfilled more in this game than in the actual MOBA they came from (which is part of the reason I love FG’s) and I’m sure a ton of the other characters feel the same even though I don’t play them. #5, duos is genuinely the most fun I’ve ever had playing a competitive game. They nailed it with how duos functions and it’s the most satisfying thing ever winning with a friend after coming up with the stupidest shit ever on the fly and it just working.There’s a ton of other things like the net code, the appearance of the game, and the developer communication and community involvement that also contribute but those are the big ones and there’s plenty of others I didn’t list.

Holy fuk this game is good. This game may use simple controls, but it is complex as hell n deep as fuk. Was kinda off put that there is no motion controls but after playing it, I see why they made it the way it is and I will say that this is probably the best fighting ever played in my life. It also gives me an incentive to get an arcade stick because I’ll be able to pull off the moves and combos more easily, motion controls are too difficult with an arcade stick, but I do love arcade sticks cause they’re so fukin fun to use. This game will make best use of it. This makes an already super fun game even more fun. Awesome characters, plays buttery smooth, graphics are freakin gorgeous, super addicting, fun as hell, free to play, future characters will probably be free with some grinding. I think all the haters are hating because of the transaction prices. I agree the are expensive, but you don’t have to buy them. Only thing that sucks is that you really want to own the skins because they look so dope. I never ever buy skins, but this is the only game that I will probably start buying skins for in the near future even at the price they’re at because it is that damn good. Riots got my support.They have given me something that is free to play and I’m having a blast. An absolute masterpiece.

F-Dash gains a lil slide momentum if you hold down right after or you can cancel it midway with throw. Basically a universal kara cancel throw. Somehow default button preset for controller works better for arcade stick than stick layout due to throw being normal sf config.

In my experience, all of the open world sandbox hitstun based "you can do anything" type games are a meme. They just devolve into the most optimal route anyway and then all that creativity, variety, and diversity they spent years coded in get thrown out the window because some options are just naturally far better than others. GG started in 1998, a decade after SF, and several years after games like Tekken and VF. Everything else since then has been an existing IP getting a fighting game OR has died (Soulcalibur for example was also 1998 and is basically dead)

That will give you a counter hit into whatever CH combo you wish.Speaking of combos, you would often land a dust, but not do a follow-up. I recommend practicing a simple dust combo so you can tack on more damage after a hit with one.I also recommend using Faultless Defense more. It has its issues, obviously, but it's a good way to avoid chip damage and push the opponent off of you. Otherwise, you get suffocated by their offense and have to rely on tools like your reversal, which can be more easily baited and punished.
