Used to hate The Sims 2 on PSP when I first played it years ago. But now, I can't help but look so fondly at it. Personally I find there to be almost nothing worth playing Sims 3 for over the other mainline games in the series. While it's the main selling point for a lot of people, I find the open world to be more or less a gimmick and the way neighborhood progression was implemented to accommodate the "open" nature of the game is actually pretty antithetical to the way I prefer playing these games. Sims 2 is my preferred sims game on pretty much all levels except maybe actual Create-A-Sim capabilities, which is the big selling point of Sims 4. Also if you're like me or some other posters here, the thing that keeps us coming back is the sandbox nature of the games, where the process of creating content for the game becomes the gameplay. Probably not the type of answer you were looking for, sorry lol.
