The sidequest against the emperor of the unarmed fighting pits in desert town was fucking awesome. The gloves you get from it are really damned good for unarmed fighting, too. You get chargeable lightning punches, a gear that alters your light attack combo, and a gear that makes consecutive hits deal more damage. I might just switch over to fighting unarmed for a while to see how I like using it for boss fights. Protip for anyone who fights him: spirit abilities are allowed. I utilized the force palm jump to avoid his super attack whenever I wasn't close to a pillar and also managed to land a handful of the charged follow-up force palms for beeeg damage.

Chapter 12 is one of the worst missions in a game. Dragon does 0 dmg, 3 giant turrets shooting at you that do a million dmg with auto tracking missiles from 2 of the turrets and all of the blimps, which there is like 8 blimps. If youre on pc just shoot the gattling one down, go to the castle land on the ground alt tab open cheat engine and enable speed hack to like 1000000 and wait until your shitty dragon is full health. Since I am locked out to the girl for a bit I decided to mess around with the musket and then wanted to explore the reed devil city as I never went there. Could have sworn there used to be a tower of some sort there but instead I found his house and the lore. So I grabbed the journey item and decided to check some other side quests and noticed the Senia church (nearest one on the cliff with the cool rope bridges) was under siege by goblins. Did this only happen that I triggered the journey item or was it more recent? After punching him a few times in the takedown added the entry for Sir Catfish to my knowledge codex. Turns out you can interrogate every faction like this, already had the Bleed Bandits boss so interrogating their guys just did nothing, Fundamentalist Goblins revealed 2 bosses and learned that their leader is acutally a human never ask a fundamentalist goblin the race of his boyfriend. Been doing the Antumbra guys, they have been spilling the beans not only on their bosses but the locations of the sanctums. Also learned that higher rank enemies have more information than lower ones. Antumbra zealots (the guys wearing rags) stopped giving me info but the bishops still do.

I think I realize why Crimson Desert is so divisive...I think basically Crimson Desert is an actual shit game, but with AAA+ presentation. One thing that Crimson Desert opened my eyes to is why the hell haven't MMO developers been hired to create open world games? So many open world games just have such little shit going on in the world and bland area design.

For whatever reason my Kliff gets real fucking finicky with the glide and aerial maneuver inputs whenever I am up in the abyss. I've had to reset my position a dozen times now. A lot of it seems to be weird input lag I don't get anywhere else but in this specific area of the abyss.

How's the difficulty in this game? I hear the story sucks but the exploration and combat are fun. I haven't heard much about the difficulty though. Exploration is fine but if the enemies and bosses aren't hard enough to force you to explore then it's kind of pointless. This is my biggest criticism of BOTW that food trivialized the difficulty and made exploration mechnically unrewarding. I can accept a weak story if the gameplay has enough difficulty to reward exploration though.

Is it me, or is Damiane really shit?Her rapier is trash, really low damage and has almost no ability to stagger, or deal with enemies that have shields. It also is trash for groups.Her longsword has damage and AOE, but fuck me is it slow. Way too slow to be used against any boss.Spears are about the best weapon for her. Decent speed, damage and stagger, but still suck at dealing with groups of enemies.Dual wielding is no different than using a single rapier.Most of her unlockable attacks are also mediocre at best. She doesn't get the spin attack combo like Kliff does, and she gets nothing remotely close to Kliffs clone attacks. Only her magic attacks are slightly better than Kliffs, which isn't saying much because magic just sucks except to use imbue element.Her shield toss is useless too. Kliffs force palm staggers the fuck out of enemies and it's combos do insane damage, but shield toss does neither of these.Also she has almost no fucking armor sets, and I have not found a single helmet she can wear so she is always going to have low defence.Why is she so bad?

I know by default you can merge haste abyss gears, and the red witch sells 3 (4 if you gift her enough shit) but they are mostly defensive ones like bonus defence or health regen.Each of the recipes allows you to merge up to rank 3 abyss gears too. It's 2 level 1 gears to make a level 2 gear, and 2 of those to make a level 3 gear (or 4 level 1 gears total).
