I've always headcanon'd the lights in the cities work on Ceruleum which is how they're automated the way they are. If the Ceruleum plant in Thanalan is the primary source of it for Eorzea I guess it'd make sense that it wasn't widely adopted like it was in Garlemald, especially with the ability to manipulate Aether, but with new trade routes to Tural and now Garlemald opening up, do you reckon there's a chance of an industrial revolution through innovation via access to a larger supply + knowledge trade in Eorzea?
