Young Moriarty was too pathetic to reach the same levels as his older self. Sherlock took so long to betray us that his "death" in Traum felt out of nowhere. Muramasa was great if you wanted to see an Old man Shirou helping, if you wanted a villain Shirou though, you were left disappointed. Kirei, I understand, becomes like his old self for the final battle BUT his showing in LB7 and the summer event were way too comedic for anyone to take him seriously at that point. I feel only Limbo lived up his villain status. His death felt satisfying too. He even recruited Cag way after his death so his impact is still felt. Hey was written by Sakurai but he lived up too the expectations I had about Apostles in the beginning. (Cag is great and all but he was introduced way later so I don't count him as part of the original apostles)
