There is genuinely not a single other solution to "casting a spell uses 20% of your max mana and takes 45 seconds to come back" syndrome some champions suffer from besides going manaflow + PoM, and even that is barely enough sometimes. Even then it's not an always thing. You do not always need it even on those champs. But it does feel nice and can allow you to actually cast spells to play the game in bad matchups where you just have to push buttons on the wave.

Counterpoint is that your early game is still weak, I think? And you'd be laning against champs that can chew on squishy champs easily enough.
