The rerelease on Switch 2 fixed the spelling errors and readded the cut content while also adding in the "Mike" fight that was exclusive to the International Version.

Like, translators are mostly professionals that have to keep author intent in mind. If he fears a "Jellopocalypse-Lovely Complex" situation, that's just the worst case scenario, far from the norm. And nobody says he has to trust translators blindly, he obviously could supervise and have final say on the matter. And if a joke simply can't be adapted, there's solutions to that.
