Just finished Daybreak 2, it was fun. It's not better than 1 but I like how some characters gets closure. The rewind mechanic was stupid and underutilized as hell, I was impressed with that one boss fight that used it pretty well. The side quest are straight fucking garbage, wtf happened there? All I remember doing was "sneaking," going to one place to another just to talk and fighting monsters. There's barely any variety compare to the previous games. Please tell me Horizon isn't like this or else I'm talking a break. The marchen garten is simply trash because the rewards are boring and unfulfilling. I played the game on nightmare and not once did I think that I should grind skill stones, worthless junks. There were many fun moments in the main quest that made me keep playing and if I were to replay it I'm not going to bother with the side quest or garten stuff. Also, Shizuna is absolutely busted with her all cancel skill.

I've noticed a trend where Cold Steel chuds and Skyboomers are often teaming up against Crosscucks and Vankids and vice versa. On one hand it's understandable since Calvard continues a lot of the themes and elements that were introduced in Crossbell, like Heiyue and the racial conflict between Easterners and white people. A tactic Crow actually brings attention to and kinda calls out, hence the attempt at clearing away suspicion from not just himself but others too. She isn't specifically malicious about it but the optics read much more manipulative than her game counterpart's encounter with Rean, which Fie and later Alisa and Machias are a little soured by.
