【Nuggets Worldview Introduction】
Introducing the player's mothership!
"Endurance" is an aircraft carrier that maintains traditional bridge structures and dual-purpose guns while incorporating the latest air defense systems. It suffers from insufficient speed due to its steam turbine engines, but thanks to its older generation design, it features thick compartmental structures, and its armor and redundant internal layout maintain a certain level of damage limitation capability even against modern precision-guided weapons. True to its name, it's a ship with the mission of enduring and never sinking. Peep!

I fell down another rabbit hole, and I might as well share it.
Apparently there was a Sukhoi project in the '80s to design a ground attack aircraft to serve as a successor to the Frogfoot,
They ended up designing this fat and wide forward-swept wing v-tail twin-fuselage... thing and worked on it all the way up until the '90s.
>As early as 1980, a successor to the Su-25 'Frogfoot' was under design at Sukhoi, code-named Sh-90 (for "Shturmovik for the 1990s") and bearing the bureau designation T-12. Featuring an unusual configuration employing twin forward fuselages housing separate cockpits, the design included a forward-swept wing and V-tail. The left-side forward fuselage was to provide the pilot's station and carry the radar sensors in the nose, whereas the other forward-fuselage was to accommodate the weapons operator and an electro-optical fire-control system.
>The design called for a maximum takeoff weight of 20 tonnes, and the type was to be powered by one or two non-afterburning engines developing 100 kN of thrust. The aircraft would have been approximately 52.5 feet (16 m) long, with a wingspan of 64 feet (19.5 m).

A shot of the underside of an earlier iteration which was stacked to fuck with internal bays (apparently a requirement of the program, though the weapon complement was never finalized). If the blog site I grabbed these from is to be trusted, these illustrations were made by and provided by the chief designer.

>>562057519
Wow. That looks absolutely wrong in every conceivable way.
The Rafalski. I hate it.
Interesting that it was a single-engine design initially, though.
>>
Hey if anyone else is playing the demo for At Skies' Edge, how have you managed to beat the second mission? For some reason I cannot seem to keep either ground team alive long no matter how much I support them. Dust Lance seems to die the fastest but if I neglect the teams in Mizra Town too long helping Dust Lance they end up eating shit. Not to mention dealing with the planes harassing the naval fleet.

The Analog is always really fun. There was I think an even more obscure ground attack MiG-21 concept that used the wings tested on the Analog, but with the addition of a MiG-23 forward fuselage section bolted to the front from what I remember.
Also on the topic of MiG-21 prototypes, my favourite's the Ye-8; an attempt from the early 60's to move the MiG-21's intakes under the fuselage so that a larger radar could be fitted in the nosecone.
They abandoned it, but not until one of the planes exploded at over Mach 2 due to the failure of the equally experimental engine.

That scene still gets me, not because of the scene itself, but because they decided to include the unsung war notes in that little moment.
It’s probably just a tribute to Harling being the hero of the Belkan conflict, but I interpret it as the very moment when the classic AC cycle of a hero falling into misery and then finding redemption begins once again. It also feels like a subtle reminder that in AC, heroism is never static. It is something that gets broken down and rebuilt, often through the parts of war that go unnoticed or uncelebrated.

>Because neighbour osea was arming up like crazy
All pointed towards the Yukes, not the Belkans. This is Belka panic spending themselves into poverty, and could've been avoided if they just TALKED TO THEIR NEIGHBOR.
>It was a planned joint venture with Osea, Osea screwed over Belka by making it look like there were less resources than thought
Sounds like Belka's retarded for not performing an independent survey ON THEIR OWN TERRITORY.
>Ustios Independece movement was sponsored by Osea
No amount of money or foreign influence is able to create a successful indepence movement among a populace without there already being a strong native push for self-governance. And if Belka was actually as strong as they claim then they'd still be unified, just look at how successful Erusea's been in quashing separatist movements.
>As if Ustio didn't get money and military aid out the ass by osea in return for mineral resources
Sounds like a free market to me. Maybe Belka should've negotiated a trade agreement with their biggest fucking neighbor instead of investing in wonderwaffles.
>declare war to reclaim territory you've been screwed out of by your greedy pig neighbour
Legally sold to Osea and internationally recognized states. Also still doesn't explain why they declared war on the fucking YUKTOBANIANS.

>RETURN RIGHTFUL BELKAN CLAY
Legally sold to Osea and internationally recognized states.
>REMOVE OSEA KEBAP
Weak.

>Belka saved countless lives
Belkan lives don't matter. Also hilarious that Osea was right about Belka developing WMDs, and doubly hilarious that the Belkans were so desperate they used them on their own clay BECAUSE THEY WERE LOSING THE WAR FASTER THAN THEY COULD DEVELOP V2.

Oh this April Fool's gag is gay as fuck. Anyways buddies I hate to ask this, but do you any of you think we should put the general on hiatus until we get more real info about AC8? I mean half the bumps lately are just someone saying Plane and posting a screenshot. Can't even use Current Event or Current Event 2: Sandbox Boogalooa as an excuse. But at the same time there are generals here with far less reason to exist than us, I guess.

Cities are half abandoned already because they're seeing the writing on the wall and they're all getting the fuck out so probably highways full of cars getting launched like crazy. Also not ever city is a million+ people in it. Glassing half empty cities when their full pop was like 7k people would drastically dropping the death count from like double digit kiloton bombs especially since the Belkans looked to be going for Ground Bursts which severely reduced overall destruction for all the fallout. As most of the damage from a regular nuke is from the shockwave and overpressure not the fireball.

>"Endurance" is an aircraft carrier that maintains traditional bridge structures and dual-purpose guns while incorporating the latest air defense systems.
I wonder if "latest" is just FCU propaganda fluffing up how capable the Endurance is thanks to an overhaul, or if they really do have some GR futuretech involved.
>It suffers from insufficient speed due to its steam turbine engines, but thanks to its older generation design, it features thick compartmental structures, and its armor and redundant internal layout maintain a certain level of damage limitation capability even against modern precision-guided weapons.
Man, this all but guarantees she's going to take a hard pounding from a bunch of Sotoan shots.

Most of them are ones focused on the historical side. I can recommend Rex's Hangar, Not a Pound for Air to Ground, IHLYS, and Ed Nash's Military matters. Each of them make pretty decent videos and sometimes cover the same planes so if you're worried about getting info from a single source you can compare. There's also a channel called Military Aviation History by a guy from, I think Austria judging by hid accent, and he has access to German WW2 archives if you happen to really like German planes from that era. He does generally cover the Wehrmacht as a whole but he primarily focuses on the Luftwaffe. Also I like watching Pilot Debrief and Blancolirio from time to time, but they mostly cover aviation accidents. Not always fatal ones but still. It's good for learning as someone who doesn't fly about what can wrong in the cockpit and honestly probably really good for quick reference if any of you actually fly yourselves.
