>>562257995>200 elonigga you can play anything outright of sacrificing your queen for a pawn and it will be better than your opponentTo be serious though, find a place where you can maneuver your pieces to support a pawn break. Since you graciously had the engine already enabled which said c3 is the best move, that makes it easy to understand. In this position, you want to maximize control over d4 and then push the d pawn to d4. c3 prepares that.>but le engine recoomends c3 then qb3!buddy you will not be able to understand why the fuck that's a good move unless you take LSD and ascend to the spirit realm for 3 days and 3 nights to ask the ghost of Fischer wtf is queen b3If someone tries to close a position, identify pawn break, position pieces to support it, then rip open the position. Closed positions require more skill, ironically. For beginners open positions are much more comfortable. Hell, you can sacrifice a pawn to open a position lots of times.

Chess is said to be a zero luck game, since all information is known and there is no RNG. But wouldn't opening prep lead to luck, because you could get lucky with prepping exactly for what the opponent plays.
>>562314694That is still called skill. You had the skill to be prepared for what your opponent tried to do. This is an infinite scale.>but le ur lucky to be prepared for x line and he played x line instead of yStill a skill issue.
>>562315243well deciding what to study i.e. predicting what your opponent might play could be a skill
>>562315243But preparing for every line perfectly is beyond the human limit, even the best players have to put there focus on certain lines, so there will always be blind spots. Yes, in theory they could memorize every line, but in theory you could always flip a coin perfectly, as robots have been done to do, yet coin flips are luck. Since there is a human limit, there is luck
>>562316932As in you're better at guessing than others. If you want to call it a skill, sure, but there's always a chance.

>>562317238it's not random chance what they will play though, players have their own preferences
>>562317614Yes but they COULD change it up, there is guessing involved. If you play rock paper scissors and someone goes rock 90% of the time, you play paper and then lose cause they play scissors, that's luck. It's skill to study them and understand there preferences, but luck to guess correctly what they actually do
>>562314694What they mean is that if you play a move it won't be luck that decides wether it was good or bad. Luck exists tho, and even if the game of chess is an abstract game that eliminates random chance, the players exist in the real world and are subject to it's affects. For example if Anish got a stomache flu from a well regarded restaurant, and that was some factor in poor time management or calculation that would be an example of being robbed.
>>562317826you are arguing against the existence of poker pros, where the same situation applies. what appears to be luck is actually skill that you don't understand
>>562314694yes I agree although I wouldn't put the luck involved on chess itself since prep is something external to the game,as in the a single game between two opponents not the game as whole.chess is as close to a 0 luck game as you can get but reality itself involves a lot of luck so any anything within will have a luck element to itI think that anon is messing with you it's already weird to deny there is a luck element in people playing into your prep when it's selfevident, implying there is no luck in poker is just pure bait
>>562318290no they aren't - it's not mutually exclusive, you obviously have games which involve both luck and skill. anon is arguing the presence of luck not the absence of skill
>>562318290Poker has loads of luck, trust me I've played. Amateurs have won the main event. Pros just make more money over the long term where luck is minimized
>>562317608I hated closed position cucks so I studied Tal's games for two weeks and now NUKE everything every time I see you cucks try that
>turns off the body camera
>>562319047How do I even get open positions?
>>562314694you can also describe it the other way. it is a game of chance where stronger players are more lucky than the weak ones
>>562321179Magnus wouldn't turn off the body camera. He would calculate a series of events weeks in advance that causes them to malfunction at the exact time he is alone with you. Then he mates you.
>>562301897The world will witness a BAN like no other
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q1lEF3D8R4owhy did nobody in the thread mention this?only now found out there is a freestyle tournament going on right now with leko on commentary
>>562328907Freestyle isn't real chess
>>562329178t. Benko, #1 Fischer hater
>>562329178>noo where's muh memorization, where are my standard positions aaaahhh save me familiarity from having to think
>>562329178ngl I'm too lazy to play it more than once in a blue moon but it's fun to watch
I think after someone reaches 2700 ELO, they get a trophy saying 'I Win Chess!'. They then can only play Freestyle. Both Magnus and Fischer complained greatly at the tedium of spending 12 hours a day for weeks to memorize a gorillion lines in World Champ tournaments desu
>>562328907She got nice tits. Where's the onlyfans to support her
It feels good to beat these faggots who play this way in blitz and try to get you to overextend or lose on time.In fact I lost my first 3 games against this guy but won the last 2.
>>562309660Listen to what he has to say.
>>562314192I saw the reddit thread that was insinuating that, but I could barely understand what they were getting out. Everybody tries to prepare for his opponent, and he predicted the opening correctly.
I wish I could tag team my chess games so that I only play the opening and then I tag in my partner who specializes in middle games and endgames.
>>562294475>i refuse to make distinctions >i will forever defend zion don and israel the zoomer way. i wonder if you would be willing to go to war for russia.

>>562329178it’s arguably more chess-like than real chess. Prep means nothing
Is there a huge difference between how chessdotcom and lichess do ratings? I'm brand new just started a week ago and I've played about 1000 games on chessdotcom currently rated 250. Then I decided to try out lichess and after about 100 games I'm 900 rating and still winning about half my matches. Is chessdotcom just bots botting bots or does lichess inflate ratings to make me feel good about myself?
>>562347443yes there is. either way what i do upon reaching a new peak on chesscom is i go train on lichess. chesscom is the premier site where all of the titled players are, that's all you need to know
happy world autism awareness day /chess/a lot of you would benefit from being more aware of your own autism
>maybe candidates will bring life back to /chess/ Next cope?
>>562349764you multiline post for extra attention like a woman. you have extreme autism, start with yourself
>>562344597i think what he means is that it's a circus. he's actually pointing to the fact that prep means nothing so it's just like a fucking mario party mini game type of deal and that some aspects of the game are lost at least in the opening due to trying to figure out how to even play
crazy to think that one of my goals was to play naroditsky on stream but alas i can't do that anymore for crying out loud. i also don't call him danya like you absolute ape zoomers by the way, it's either daniel or naroditsky. you danya retards are all u1000
I hate playing on a different account and someone requests a takeback, I hate telling people no, but it's the rules :l
>>562354003It's Danya. Post a game link faggot
>>562352387I'm already aware of my autism, I have an official diagnosis and everything.I will post in whatever format I like.
>>562309660
The irony of zoomers crying about Danya’s death is that discussion around it accounts for maybe 90% of posts in the last year.
>>562357071how is that ironic?
>>562358027Because the same zoomers stay up to necrobump and live for arguing about how supposedly alive the general is.
>normally hang around 1400-1500 rapid>occasionally get absolutely dumpstered>check the opponents profile>they have 1800+ classical ratingsWtf? Why do I keep getting paired against dudes that play for real? I get fucking spanked by these random ass real players and it drives me nuts.
>>562350396thread is more active though?
My name's Fabiano CaruanaThat's my nameI like seventeen-year-old cunnyAnd there ain't no shameI might have had a rough startBut that's just how it isI'll beat that uzzie faggotAnd he'll get his
http://live.shogi.or.jp/eiou/kifu/11/eiou202604030101.htmlhttps://abema.tv/now-on-air/shogiThe first game of the 11th Eio title match is being played, between Takumi Ito (sente, the Eio title holder) and Shintaro Saito. The time control is 4 hours per player, and the match is a best of 5.This year's match is a rematch of last year's, which Ito won with three wins and two losses.

>>562360065I found a legitimate slur for Central Asians I can use instead of uzzie... but it's not well known it seems>Churka>Derogatory term, literally meaning black head, as in someone with black hair. Mainly used by ethnic Russians in Russia for people from the Caucasus, like Armenians, Georgians or Azerbaijanis, but also for Central Asians like Tajiks or Afghans.https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Churka>Churka (Russian: чypкa)>Western and Central Asianshttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_ethnic_slurs

>>562361382i have heard that before for some reason but didnt know what it was for
>>562359557The opening is double wing attack, with a very early (move 31) rook trade.
>>562361382It's actually so incredibly common that if you drop it on one of them they're going to punch you in the throat.
