Hell rise even let's you go into the big pyramid in flooded forest you could never enter in the old games but ultimately who cares when what people are here for is the action of hunting monsters. The pure essence of monhun has always been "you see that monster? well i don't want to so deal with it". I don't really understand how they could blend exploration into the game seamlessly when progression is tied to fights and fights alone. It even seems like they tried a bit with the scoutflies shit in world but people complained because naturally for 20+ years the series has been "fight that monster kill it dead" and pretty much nothing else. An exploration focused spinoff would be great and I think that's what they've tried with stories but the stories sales speak for themselves. People would rather action combat more than they'd rather exploration and a lengthy narrative

When he flies up you can see his shadow on the ground and that's where he'll land. You can use that knowledge to plant bombs and if you time it properly they'll explode as he lands. 2. Aim for the head or tail as he lands. Hopefully you've realized by now that you can negate wind pressure by mashing attacks. You can use that to attack as he lands and if you do enough damage he'll fall out of the air. 3. He runs around a lot so you'll need to anticipate when he's about to so you arrive at the area where he'll fall over before he has enough time to get up and attack again. You'll probably only have time for one or two hits in that brief moment but it adds up over time. This means you need to sheathe preemptively before he starts running. >>562350153Great sword is a bit slow so just like hammer you'll want to be attacking before the monster moves so your attacks land. Obviously this means really observing the monster so you can predict what it'll do as soon as you see the start of an animation. It just takes practice but thankfully most monsters share moves in this game so you'll understand pretty quickly what I mean. You should basically be spamming the wide slash move (the one that goes on a circle around you) pretty much nonstop because it's your fastest attack and it covers a lot of range so you can really just throw it out there and there's a good chance it'll hit some part of the monster. If you do it at a good angle you should be able to follow it up with the backslash and then roll out. So basically let's say rathalos is facing the left side of your body, you would then do wide slash and the tip of the sword would hit his head, and if you don't have time you simply roll forward or if you do have time you can follow up with back slash and then roll forward. Do you understand what I'm trying to say? Position yourself so that after your attack you can just press roll to safely get out of the way without having to turn first because while you're turning you'll get hit. There are higher level techniques I could get into for turning but it's probably best to save that for later

Frankly, I'm really happy they removed archaic terms like "male" and "female" from the character creator in Rise and Wilds. It absolutely does not reflect modern society's understanding of gender and sex to pigeonhole everyone into two strict categories. Apparently games before World went a step further and used gender symbols colored pink or blue... scarily problematic.
Focus mode feels like the culmination of what Capcom has been trying to do with this series for a long time. Monster Hunter has always struggled with clunky weapons and combat but focus mode finally gives the player full control.

So Rise+Sunbreak is currently 11 dollars on Xbox. I want to ask a rather specific question: Can you turn off its motion blur? I'm asking this because I made the big mistake of purchasing the console version of Vanquish (it was Bayonetta 1 and Vanquish bundled together) a few years back for my PS4, and even though the game ran a smooth 60fps, it had motion blur that you couldn't turn off (unlike with the PC version of the game). So does it have forced motion blur on console or not?
