I wouldn't nerf crushers, I would make them far more rare and instead introduce a new admonition varient of the crusher that's faster & has more hp but trades it off by being unarmoured & flak. Now rotten armour is 90% admonition crushers & 10% normal crushers. There you go your heavy sword is viable again

They decided to not make it check if you're at 0 ammo so if you just spam click it will eventually hit a shot that consumes 0 ammo and since spaghetti code says "oh, no ammo cost? ok you can shoot at 0 ammo" that happens.
