Casuals are the lifeblood of FFXIV. Casuals are primarily drawn in by the MSQ. If the MSQ is good, casuals will think "mmm, I liked that, I'll try some of these optional things now because I want to keep this high going". If the MSQ is bad, casuals think "Oh well, guess I'll play something else now" AND THEY DON'T FUCKING CARE HOW GOOD THE CONTENT IS OR IF THE WRITING IS GOOD IN IT BECAUSE YOU'VE ALREADY LOST THEM.Shit MSQ = Expansion is a failure, simple as fucking that.
