WHO are you THREE HEALERS going to heal enough to get ult charge with only ONE tank, and it's Venom/Hulk/Cap? You are SPLITTING HEALING into THREE instead of into TWO, with only ONE tank to farm Ult healing from. See how this doesn't add up?

The only exception to this, sort of, is Groot solo tanking since he soaks up so much damage near his wall.

I do agree with this mostly, but that is the niche they're designed to fill (Ultron aside, but I'll talk about that below) and there is a tradeoff for it--they're simply not as effective as a standard DPS in that same role and their healing abilities are more limited. These characters don't see a high pick rate because they are designed for that niche and its just simply not always applicable.

Ultron I think is grossly mischaracterized by the game's playerbase as a DPS-focused support, I assume largely because his ult can kill and because he generally spends more attention on shooting the enemy than healing, but his damage output just doesn't resemble Adam or Mantis's. He can kill due to damage spikes and incredible range but he's not generating a ton of ult charge from it. His buffs do increase ult charge for teammates and shields decrease it for allies, so maybe it evens out, but I tend to think of Ultron as a utility support rather than a DPS/Support hybrid.

Colossus is a frequently reoccurring character who nonetheless isn't as popular as the big names like Storm and Wolverine. That is like the definition of a B-lister.

They clearly pushed back Colossus for a reason. We don’t know what it is, but k feel pretty confident saying it’s because they couldn’t think of a way to make him play significantly different from other brawl tanks in the game, and in which case I doubt we’ll be getting him anytime soon.

Thing’s unique trait is cutting off enemy mobility and immovably. No one else does this.
Angela flies and displaces people.
Thor can enter a ranged mode for a brief moment that specialises in high burst damages and crowd control.
Emma is the opposite of Thor. She’s a poke/shield tank capable of entering a brawl mode when she needs to.
Rogue specialises in being fucking annoying.
Cap has mobility unmatched by any brawler that allows him to be anywhere he needs to be at a moments notice while
also applying constant pressure to the enemy backline with his presence.
Hulk is able to shield allies to cut off dive, stun enemies cancelling their ults and grounding fliers, has a leap that allows him to be anywhere he needs to be while also giving him incredible vertical mobility, and has a melee that can attack multiple targets at once, and as a second life ult.
Wolverine focuses on snatching large enemy targets away from their allies and into his own.
Daredevil is about using wall hacks to flank and strike when the time is right.
Spidey is all about insane aerial mobility and speed, striking enemies with his webs from any angle.
Blade is a brawler with poke capabilities, who brawls when a 1v1 opportunity presents itself and comes out on top by outlasting the enemy with life steal.
Magik is about being incredibly hard to hit and track because she’s always teleporting.
Deadpool is a like blade. He’s a poke hero with who brawls when the opportunity arises, however his poke is more crowd control focused and spammy, and he wins 1v1s by making good use of his mobility.
Ironfist is a tank buster but instead of snatching the enemy away from their team like Wolverine, he specialises in sticking to the enemy. This makes him preferable to Wolverine for the high mobility heroes he struggles against.
White fox is a healer with brawl potential. Her brawling mode is her way to contest dive while continuing to heal her allies.
