Yeah, genuinely good one. This episode provides a great contrast to episode 17 because it's an identical situation: Makoto is the only one who can help someone he really really admires. The big difference this time is the person he really really admires is not strong, but is actually weak like him. So instead of panicking because the person he's trying his hardest to help is capable themselves and we all know what happened when THAT panic occurred he takes it upon himself to get Handa to realise how inspirational a person he is even if he doesn't believe it to be the case. But he's just "moral support" to some complete novice who does stunts for a living and isn't even a cleaner.

By all metrics Makoto should have the aptitude to defeat a digimon that said novice effortlessly defeated as soon as he got confident, but instead NightChiropmon was barely better than useless once again. The way it was handled wasn't satisfying at all.

Genuinely would have been much better if the episode was about two large seamonster digimon attacking the ship, as a callback to what happened to Handa in the past, and have him and Makoto both work together, then become split up, and they each end up defeating one. There you have parallels about being weak and lacking confidence yet overcoming that weakness, and this keeps the fake hero who strives to become the real hero that Makoto aspires to, while in addition having Makoto strive to become like the hero he believes in.

If you thought that was going to happen in this episode, that's a failing on your part. The fact it was advertised as an Interlude Arc should have indicated this. I expected Makoto being 10 for once and I got that.

What I think would have been way cooler is if Glowing Dawn got to keep the funds from the Klay mission. Then later on in the next episode, some character drama happens between Reina, Tomoro and Makoto about how to spend the money. Tomoro and Makoto have different idea for how to handle the money, but they both tell and argue with Reina about how they can't just go around spending all this money and that they'll blow through it all before they know it. But Reina just wants to enjoy all the luxuries that she can. This would end with Kyo deciding to take charge of how they spend the money and everyone apologizes and makes up for it.

This is something that really fucking annoyed me when I watched the Haruko two part episodes back. Literally almost NOTHING is explained about this, other than that he was going to become the heir of their entire company at one point, based on what Haruko says. The fact that they didn't explain any of this AT ALL when they literally went to the fucking place that he came from is really bizarre to me.
