Either way, Nekomaru is one of the exceptional cases where his entire characterization is being a team player who uplifts others. I don't see a world where Nagito or Chiaki live by chapter 2. One of them has to die to shake things up. I bet it will be Chiaki since she's "safer". Allows Nagito to do hopeful things while shaking the status quo's baseline so it's easier to believe changes happen. Can Nagito even be murdered? Dude has luck which means he can avoid any situation where he dies. He gets shot in the stomach and gets off almost scot free in the anime. I can't see him being murdered unless he does it himself.

Gnosia works since it has roles and uses these roles for actions. all murders are the same in gnosia as a baseline with votes, gnosia absorption, bug, and unique cg events. cc needs a lot of work even with how far it's come, it doesn't even have a motive system yet. it's gameplay is more about limiting situations so anybody can do anything, but how it happens is more limited technical wise to keep things fresh for what happens and why, at least for now. kc is trying to be more like danganronpa where it has set murders but you can choose to kill the blackened or not. It might fall to what happened with yttd where it has long dev times and certain characters that can die are forced into situations where they are interchangeable outside a few lines. Alice/Reko fall into this problem heavily. With how long kc is taking, it might not get to chapter 2 anyways. I'd still consider for a rougelike mechanic due to the changes between each chapter theoretically, it's more of how they implement reactionary systems to who gets killed in the trial and what possibilities that opens/closes.as someone who enjoys the idea, it is inherently more limiting for a writer than having normal murders. A normal murder can be planned in extreme detail while anything more dynamic is more backend/systems based where variables and control of said variables becomes a key player to the game experience and also becomes part of a narrative experience. Gnosia does it well due to using it's role to impact personality and motive so murders and actions make sense.TL:DR: Good but requires more effort to make everything believable.

During the trial, Peko tries to frame herself as usual, this is the point where Akane's corruption is revealed as Akane figured out Peko didn't do it, but aids her efforts anyway. I don't like that Fuyuhiko being the culprit of 2 is too obvious on a meta level, but there's no other way to kickstart Peko's development, and that takes priority.(1/4)

As she panics and gets dragged off to be executed, the group gets the feeling that something was off about her alleged insanity, but they won't find out the full truth until later, so this effectively serves as foreshadowing for the simulation reveal. They aren't going to go with the more in depth option if they want to make it past chapter 1 without tumbling into a massive pit of work that rivals everything beforehand. DISTRUST tried to do this, but not much information is known about it. They had a very clear reason to abandon it's more dynamic nature to more easily release a product.

Ibuki directs the trial by making seemingly randumb comments that always happen to mention something that changes the tide of the conversation. When she's cornered, she enters a really intense psycho bitch mode for a while, but ultimately admits that she just couldn't help herself and is glad she got outed. She tells Mikan and Mahiru to survive for the sake of Hiyoko and her. I don't really think too much of the executions here, but I think it would be cool if Ibuki's execution was being placed in a room with instruments that all hurt her when played, but she plays them anyway through the pain and dies ecstatic that she was able to make music one last time.(3/4)

She reveals Tetuteru told her how close she was to Nekomaru and what he would've wanted of her, so she decides to sacrifice herself the same way he did. Maybe that could be a way to throw the "Mahiru as the protagonist" copers a bone by making her playable in Chapter 6 while Hajime is out. The part where FF interferes is tricky, because I think that's the one that's going to be tampered with the most, so I don't have many ideas for how that could change for now. The motives are almost always directly relevant to why someone gets killed, and this is why you can't just make up reasons someone does a murder.
