The game would never recover after Beyond Light but I think what set the game’s death in motion was the “bringing the challenge back to Destiny” ideology back in late 2022. Bungie doesn’t play their own games and heavily relies on streamer opinion which in itself is very biased. The nerfs and artificial caps got worse and worse every dlc to the point where there’s no point in light level anymore, or at least by the time I quit. Haven’t played EoF but I heard the raid relied on loadout swapping which is ridiculous.I’ve been thinking about this for a few years now but one gameplay change I would make is removing the border between primaries and secondaries so they interswappable and instead of having 9 slots in each category you have 18 slot inventory. Also I think not bringing back seasonal mods in a new section for subclasses is a missed opportunity.
“We’re in this for the long haul” aka “please don’t stop spending money till the last second” because there’s no way a single soul at Bungie knows when Sony will arbitrarily pull the plug at any moment, and there’s more than enough justification to do so.

The saddest thing of all isn't the death of Destiny or the slow slide of Bungie into quirk chungus retardation. It's that talented studios like High Moon and Vicarious Visions barely go credit for their excellent work and are now trapped in ActiBlizz slop mines.
