I was browsing unity assets I apparently bought 4 years ago in some humble bundle. This was one of them, "Meadow Environment Dynamic Nature". It's pretty nice. You can look at it (or other scenes) in VR by downloading the XR Interaction Toolkit and its samples, dropping the XR Origin prefab in the scene, and hitting play. Which is essentially the same as adding the vrchat SDK and adding a world descriptor yes, but this way you don't have to figure out how to backport it to BRP and the scripts for incidental effects still work without vrchat stripping them on upload. No anime grills though. Still inspiring that going from zero to "single player VR walking sim" is like 5 minutes of work these days.The render distance on the grass is still disappointing for nature scenes, and the road shader hovers above the ground (like I've seen in other vrchat worlds probably using similar assets). Probably can't do much better in straight unity unfortunately. I did try importing the scene with unidot too but the terrain detail (all the grass) doesn't work out of the box sadly.

At tilegun because it's a way older version compared to literally every other map it still has the bug where someone joins the instance it resets it, so you just have to remember to press it and make it red so you dont fall victim to opening and bricking your hand.

This map is a reupload but it's moon week thanks to nasa so this one is worth a look. It's the cyberpunk moon map, you get to go to residential, get a moon kit, and then go out onto the moon and recreate your favourite moon scenes.
This one appears to be entirely self-made, and is a nice asian-themed bamboo map. It lacks the polish of more experienced map makers but it's great for something self-made. Cosy mirror+video player areas dotted around the map for the most popular vrc pasttime. Watching youtube videos.

I hacked in a tablet emulation prototype into wayvr, so the angle of your controller and distance from the screen translate into pen tilt/pressure. Works pretty well in Krita. About the same feel as vermilion or one of those vrchat drawing worlds except it's an actual full art program.
