Anybody else like to play Starfield by just RPing as a regular joe for the first 50+ hours? Just scanning planets and doing cargo missions while actively avoiding bounty missions or anything that results in combat. I ignore a lot of the Science and Tech things until I get crewmates to 'teach' my character. My plan is to finally start tackling the action oriented stuff once I amass a bigger ship with a strong crew. It just makes the most sense to be progression wise. MSQ is always the last thing I do.

I've spent the past several days trying to find a scenic place for an outpost on one of the Earth-like planets (breathable atmosphere, temperate, etc.) and the one thing that is driving me nuts is how there are basically no lakes or rivers anywhere you land, and certainly no way to find them. The closest thing is coastlines, which usually suck because there are no trees close to the water anywhere and most beaches are just the same rocky ground as the inland areas.I feel like I'm just gonna plop a base down on a hill in a forest and call it good because finding a water feature just feels impossible.

Since you still have to grav jump between systems, which is done using the menu still, I don't really see it as improving immersion all that much.The other new thing is X-tech, which is a new random-drop material you can use to reroll the legendary modifiers on a weapon or improve the tier on an item. There's also some new ship upgrades.That's pretty much all that's changed in the base game. The new DLC has new guns, characters/quests, etc. like Shattered Space did.
