Giten has effectively been fully translated for more than a year now. The only parts that aren't are negotiation and some minor parts you could just translate quick. Even a JP youtuber who covers Giten made a JP to EN translation tutorial on how to do negotiation.

The main issue I'd say is that the EN translation introduces bugs that aren't there in the original game. Most progress-blockers are gone, but if you do get softlocked, there is a way to transfer saves between a non-buggy JP copy and the translated copy. Just swap saves, pass the bug and swap saves back. The tool is on the twitter of the translator, though I don't remember the method atm.

The Windows version isn't translated, translator gave up on it. Good thing too since that one has crazy bugs that need tons of workarounds. (like how battle speed is tied to your CPU speed etc)

People have completed the game with the translation already, so if you want to try it, go ahead anon. It's my personal favourite megaten, but I'd still rate it a solid 7/10. Best example of Suzuki's crazy ideas put into a video game, and if you love pre-nocturne megaten and it's more occult horror style it's the definitive edition of that stuff.

wherever i downloaded it from it came with the patch and patcher so i could decide the battle speed myself. it wasn't too much trouble to fix it.

Has anyone played SMT Remake VX? I get it's RPG maker stuff but anyone know how to full screen or your mappings for controls? The controls mapping doesn't always match with what button (for example, C is A on my controller and so on). Makes actual mapping kinda hard since I'm not even sure if the buttons are even in here. Anytime I go full screen with Alt + Enter, it gets cut off...

Made it through the power plant with minimal issues thanks to Argilla being a magical nuke. The gun doors were just exp pinatas and the King Naga horde wasted all of their turns trying and failing to mute Argilla while getting buried by landslides. Sera wakes up and suddenly gets all of Serph's stats and abilities, while also now having dialogue options again soft confirming he's actually dead. A-all good, we have our party synergy back so as long as Argilla doesn't have anything bad happen to her we should be okay! :)

It might just be an artistic error since later games don't look as bad. I feel like Kaneko today takes too many cues from Raidou 2's artstyle vs his better attempt in SJ.

On another note, I know that Kaneko's post-Nocturne style is iconic, but it feels a little odd being used for games outside of like Nocturne or DDS. Like Raidou and such are iconic games for megaten, but it still looks kinda off to me in general. I kind of wish we got Kaneko for SMT IV and IVA, but with his 90s era style modernized. Doi gave it a good shot in SMT IV, but screwed it in IVA.

I always liked the more occult horror post-apocalypse of the older games, and SMT IV's duology went hard on that, but Doi's artstyle especially in IVA pulled it back in a more Persona direction which sucks. In SMT V it veers even more away from the horror/occult roots of the series. Kaneko seems like he's eternally stuck in the megaten PS2 era as far as I can tell, which sucks. I wonder how SMT VI will look if we get a new artist outside of Doi.

Made it back to the laboratory which turned into a scene straight out of a Junji Ito book, fought a now completely deranged Heat again, and had the pleasure of seeing one of the best plot twists I've seen in vidya. Extremely ballsy to have the main character actually be a psychopathic manipulator and monster all along, even if that was only in a past life. Like fuck, I was expecting the Embryon squad to be childishly idealized forms of their actual selves but the truth was way harsher than I expected. I also owe Heat an apology. His data self is still a shitter though.
Getting Serph back was a pleasant surprise and I like how they're using player's likely experiences with past SMT games and RPGs in general to fuck with plot expectations. They genuinely got me with the Serph fake-out after they had transferred the stats over to Sera. Now that I have two nuclear weapon level physical unga bunga party members and no other real offensive options with Argilla's passing, I fully expect the game to start spamming phys resist/repel/absorb enemies non-stop because fuck me.

You guys think Devil Busters from MT II was a VR-like game, something with motion controls, or just a simple JRPG? I wonder why hardly anyone could beat the game, you only talk to one person who actually reaches Pazuzu. IIRC even the Dark Hero gets Hideto to play it because he's apparently good at it, might imply he's really good with that type of game.

I doubt everyone in Kehin Shelter No.3 was that shit at regular videogames. Was it intentionally made hard to weed people out? Or was Pazuzu intentionally screwing everyone's gameplay waiting for those two to play it?
