If you want examples of better cliffhangers just look at SC, CS1 and Horizon where they don't just cut to black in the middle of a cutscene and they're actual endings because of it. SC ends after Estelle gets date raped, CS1 ends with Rean forced to be away from his friends that meant so much to him, Horizon ends with Agnes becoming a goddess that holds the cube back from a full reset at the cost of her existence. CS3 ends... in the middle of Osborne speaking and CS4 has to show us how CS3 really ended.
