Rosea Knights' maps are created by placing players and objects on top of a single image. Increasing the field size resulted in a large data size for the underlying image, making it impossible for most average PCs to handle. This was clearly a problem, so we started working on optimizing the entire map. This involved various methods such as lowering the resolution of the image, changing the internal map to RPG Maker tiles, and making unnecessary parts transparent. This allowed us to keep the total map size to around 4GB. If we include voice acting, CG, and other data, it would probably reach 8GB, but please understand that the game itself is quite large even for an indie title. We intend to optimize other aspects of the game as much as possible as well.
