That's 7, though.
The Phantom being DLC is so dumb, hopefully they don't repeat that with 8. Actually, you think the Phantom will actually be a carrier variant this time or do you think it'll still be the chimera F-4E?
>>563262024most likely they'll do the same thing from ac04 f-4
>>563262024The A-6F out of nowhere gives me some hope we'll get more variants hitherto unseen in Ace Combat. Finally getting an F-4J or S instead of (or in addition to, even) an E to suit the naval aviation theme would certainly apply.
The granddad plane snubbing in 7 was rude as hell, ngl.The F-5E IS ACE COMBAT

It's over. Can't wait to do it all over again when the port drops with 8.
>>563259346hoping that the online is just peer to peer like MGS:PW
>>563272978>when the port drops with 8.Is this actually a thing or just rumors and wishful thinking
>>563265308Naval F-111 would be lovely.
>>563277225I don't see why SteamDB would have mentions of an Ace Combat Zero executable and Ace Combat Zero DLC if there wasn't something Zero-related coming.
>>563277225It might be some kind of pre-order exclusive, like 5 and 6 were for the PS4/Xbox. Which is fucking bullshit if you ask me, but at least with it being PC and on Steam you might be able to get it outside of the preorder period with creamapi/smokeapi.
>>563279572>Ace Combat Zero DLCwat
>>563284821
>>563286179is "project_live" supposed to be 8 or Zero?
>>563288383Zero's probably being packaged alongside 8 as a Steam-side DLC (Project_Live_Zero), owning the DLC lets you run it as a launch option for 8.Do take everything that SteamDB says with a grain of salt, all of this can change on a dime depending on what PA or Bamco decide.
>>563289443>acz.exehuh, I thought it could be just skins, but an executable is a different matter
If it's just going to be the same ps2 game with ps2 graphics I'm not itnerested
chudbros we lost
>>563265308Wait how do you tell the difference between A-6E and A-6F?
>>563296631The A-6E has four wing mounts, the one in the dev diary has an additional two, which was planned for the A-6F.
>>563297465So an A-6 with possibly 4AAM sounds coolWonder if we'll have both A-6E and F
>>563298497Wonder if 4AAMs will actually be decent this time around.
Okay, I want to see if I understand the politics of AC7 correctly. 1995: Osea comes to Belka with an "economic opportunity": the Great Lakes development deal. Turns out Osea knew the land wasn' profitable and it was a cover to annex Belkan territory. After this and other economic problems/territorial losses manufactured by outside powers, Belka has had enough and attacks the world. The rest is history: Belka gets brutally invaded, it's natural resources divvied up by international powers, and Osea permanently occupies and annexes huge portions of Belkan territory.1997: Usean nations are trying to set aside old tensions and form a real alliance, the Usean Allied Forces. Then Osea extends an "alliance" offer to southern Usean nations: the Spring Sea treaty. It's called called a "military" alliance but also involves mining rights and Usean natural resources. This is only 2 years after the Belkan War. The nations of Usea have seen where this goes. The western nations (including Erusea) and the northern nations (including North Point) strongly protest the treaty, but Osea goes ahead anyway. On the day of the treaty signing anti-Osean extremists launch the Usean Continental Rebellion, then Scarface 1 shows up and the rebellion is put down by 1998. The following year Ulysses hits and everything goes to shit. Fast forward 20 years. What has happened? Osea has a permanent military presence on the continent and uses it's influence to determine the flow of resources. The Spring Sea treaty nations station the IUN "peacekeeping" force which is effectively just the Osean military. Notably the western and northern nations, who originally protested the Spring Sea treaty, do not host this force. Osea/Harling probably do have humanitarian motivations. But they're not afraid to take territory from Usean nations for their development projects, even if those nations tell them no.With all of that as a backdrop, there are 3 parts of AC7 I want to make sure I understand right.1/2
>>563307832First, in this promotional video for the AC7 DLC missions, there is a news report running in the background. It specifically states that "unlike the Continental War, most Useans seem to support these (Erusea's) actions" (https://youtu.be/9b0bnIXtQro?si=16Wi7fb6Cll8ewDi specifically at 1:10). It also says some Useans want the economic assistance from Osea but others say it's an economic power grab like the Belkan War. Second, durring the briefing for mission 2 the IUN uses the phrase "forces aligned with Erusea" to describe their new enemy, not "Erusean forces." They also say that Erusea has declared war on Osea and "all nations stationing the IUN peacekeeping force," not Usean nations generally. Third, the plot of mission 10 is that Erusea doesn't want to cause a diplomatic incident with a Usean nation providing support for Osea, implying they are not already at war with them. So all of the above seems to imply this: in 2003 Erusea was explicitly attacking other Usean nations against their will. In 2019, Erusea frames the war as a fight against foreign influence/economic exploitation and only attacks Usean nations they see as enabling Osean presence. Unlike 2003 most Useans support them, and most of the red territory on the map isn't territory Erusea has seized by force. Instead, it's Usean nations who support Erusea's actions and permit the Erusea military activity within their borders. That's why the Bulgudarest incident is a big deal, it's Osea demonstrating that there are Usean nations willing to support it that weren't part of the Osean block at the start of the war. I can't remember if Bulgudarest is part of the IUN zone at the start but North Point (where commander Mckinsey is going) definitely wasn't. When I first played AC7 I assumed it was just Continental War II with Erusea invading everyone but now I'm not so sure. Does the fanbase generally agree with this or am I reading too much into it? 2/2
>>563307832>>563307978I think you're giving this more thought than Project Aces ever did.
>>563307978The Lighthouse war was all about Young Erusean Officers gaslighting their Princess and citizens into thinking Osea was taking advantage of them economically via the Space Elevator, while using Belkan technology to BTFO the other nations militaristically.Said Belkan technology was actually going to be used for a Scorched Earth/Final Solution plan as one last FUCK YOU from Belkans who had integrated themselves into Osea and Usean nations. In actuality, Osea was not taking advantage of anyone with the Space Elevator, and Erusean/Belka once again are just giga retards who attack other people like rabid animals because muh pride. It's just that shrimple.
>>563308997sounds like trump and israel
>>563291325This time something happens
>>563307321In AC7 they were decent enough at longer ranges where it got past the maneuvering debuff and could track properly. Pretty awful vs Humans but in Campaign it was solidly "Good enough" Kinda like how the ADMM is trash vs humans but super useful in Campaign (even with the 22 second reload time).
>>563307321I think it depends on the plane. F-15 they're retarded. Mig29 they are the best of all time
>>563311851lol. Rogue nation that routinely chimps out because muh pride? Sounds like somebody in that region and it's not Israel.
>>563312414Even in campaign LAAMs are just better. Nearly guaranteed kill if you launch them from a decent range.
>>563318507I wish we had the option for the old XLAA being an option instead of just the double tap option as just chucking a quartet of Phoenixes or Meteors was always just a powerful look.
>>563320270I wish we had manual control over multilock behaviour like in Vector Thrust. You could select how many locks per target you wanted and how many targets you wanted to lock onto. VT used the D-pad for this but AC8 is using it for wingmen commands so maybe they could let you hold the missile button for more locks per target. Could be really fun with HCAAs or something, like hold the button for 8 locks then unleash a macross missile massacre.
>>563325962I can hear it
>>563330531I can hear and I can already see the A Rank at the debriefing screen because some jackass sunk the Aigaion too fast again. Hey you know what would be really funny for them to do in AC8's multiplayer again? 30 tickets.
>>563289443Oh my god is this possible?Wasn't it almost impossible because of licenses being retardly expensive? The PS2 trilogy on PC would be the best thing is gaming for me now
>>563331732Brother if they released 4, 5 and Zero with everything intact except updated graphics and they asked fucking 120 bucks for it I would pay it.
>>563318008literally israel tho
>>563331732It's a loophole, I think. You probably launch it through AC8 so it stays in one game or something.
>>563308997How could eruseans ever think the space elevator was built in good faith? It’s arsenal bird air defense can cover their entire airspace and it’s built on territory they lost in the previous war. Why does the elevator need such strong air defense anyway? The space elevator was clearly put there by osea to control the usean continent. As erusea, accepting the elevator would be completely ceding their sovereignty to osea
>>563331732I mean the PS2 games have been able to be emulated pretty much perfectly for some time now, even the old bugs with clouds or the sun have been fixed by now. Don't see much benefit to a PC port besides higher resolution for the 2D elements of the UI.
>>563334386If it has the same 25 year old graphics then obviously there's not much of a point to it, but old AC games with current year graphics? I'd fucking nut so hard I wouldn't be able to play them because I'd be in hospital dying of exploded balls.
>>563335708Man imagine the scope of the war of AC5 without the technical limitations of the PS2 era. That would be so good.Like M09 "Lit Fuse" in which Osea starts the amphibious invasion of yuktobania. In game there are like 4 small squads entering yuktobania. Now imagine that but with AC7 numbers and scope, like in Stonehenge Defensive M12
>>563334386A native version might fix the square explosions on the MBPMs.
>>563335708>but old AC games with current year graphics? Yeah that's asking for too much, I really cannot see them doing remaking the game just for a DLC/preorder exclusive
they're never ever going to directly sell the PS2 games to people btw, bundling these as extras in the deluxe editions is probably a loophole in distribution licensing
>>563342286I know, which is why they should sell them as standalone releases, which I know is never going to happen, which makes me sad
>>563335708Literally every "HD remaster" in gaming history has been soulless trash that fucks up the original graphical style, and I'm not interested in seeing the same happen to Ace Combat games.
>>563333758>How could eruseans ever think the space elevator was built in good faith? Irrelevant. Built on non-Erusean territory.>It’s arsenal bird air defense can cover their entire airspace and it’s built on territory they lost in the previous war.Sovereign territory they OCCUPIED in the previous war. It was never theirs to begin with.>Why does the elevator need such strong air defense anyway? To dissuade Erusean chimpouts (they failed because Eruseans have no chill) and because a space elevator collapsing can fuck up a continent really good, so you don't want people attack it.. >The space elevator was clearly put there by osea to control the usean continent. As erusea, accepting the elevator would be completely ceding their sovereignty to oseaLiterally not built on their territory and Erusea has bigger problems to worry about than a big sky phallus with a wacky drone bodyguard. Their social cohesion's apparently weak enough that losing another war led to a number of breakaway elements declaring independence, maybe they should work on reconciling with/properly integrating countries they've previously conquered than ATTACK ALL THEIR CONTINENTAL NEIGHBORS YET AGAIN Young Erusean Officers and Belkan conspirators deserve the rope.
>>563343427You are thinking remakes, not remasters. A remaster is literally the same game with a new coat of paint. For instances the CoDMW\MW2 remasters are goated, CodMW\MW2 remake suck ass, etc. There are some shit remaster as well (like GTA:SA) but those are few and far between
>>563343427Remasters in current year tend to sacrifice art style in favor of the endless pursue of photorealism. Ace Combat's style was already trying to look realistic, as much as the hardware of the time allowed anyway. Making AC0 or X look like 7/8 in terms of fidelity would mean nothing as far as "art style" is concerned, it's not like these are particularly stylized games visually.
>>563343862>Making AC0 or X look like 7/8 in terms of fidelity would mean nothing as far as "art style" is concerned, it's not like these are particularly stylized games visually.AC titles all have very distinct art styles, most capital G gamers are just unrepentant bingbingwahoo-fags who think art style=cartoon characters
>>563345254>AC titles all have very distinct art stylesIn cutscenes, sure. Not when you're flying the plane in a mission.
>>563345458Disagree, AC games have very deliberate art direction choices in GAMEPLAY informed by the strong aesthetic tastes of PA leads of the time. Letting some minionesian outsourcing codemonkey rape it to death with AI generated ultrarealtm texture work would be an affront to people with eyes.
>>563346012>Letting some minionesian outsourcing codemonkey rape it to death with AI generated ultrarealtm texture workAnd who in this thread said it has to be done like that?
>>563346221because thats what will happen in the ultra unlikely event any such remaster effort is ever greenlit
>>563343698You are high on osean exceptionalism propaganda. How the fuck could you argue that the space elevator air defense zone “doesn’t matter because achsually it isn’t located in erusea”? The fact that it is built on former erusean territory is just another slap in the face for erusea. The arsenal birds violate the sovereignty of the erusean nation, you cannot deny this. Also, Isn’t it interesting how erusea could only successfully wage their war by hijacking these very same arsenal birds? And how they immediately lost once they were destroyed?>a space elevator collapsing can fuck up a continent really good, so you don't want people attack it..Exactly why having these arsenal birds is completely unnecessary. It’s in nobody’s interest, least of all erusea’s, to obliterate their own territory.
>>563337229>AC5 without the technical limitations of the PS2 eraBut I've seen it and played it it was called AC6
>>563350092... that's the only ace combat i ever miss. It's impossible to find a XboX 360 for a reasonable price here
>>563333758IRL if a space elevator were to fall it would almost be like a catastrophic meteor strike. There's a lot of mass high up with plenty of time to gain momentum as it falls. Obviously this would make one a high priority target for our beloved hurka dhurkas and other groups with charitable intentions. So that's the most obvious rationale for the Arsenal birds. >Inb4 "the IUN tried to destroy the space elevator"They were trying to knock it off balance enough that it's internal correction mechanisms would panic and it would shut down supplying energy to the Arsenal bird. This is basically exactly what Cossette ends up doing later. But yeah, strong arming control of the Gunther region alone does compromise Osea's humanitarian rationale, genuine as it may be. I get that and needed to go somewhere and Erusea wasn't in a position to say no but more effort should have gone into securing the idea that this was a joint endeavor and not something forced on them. I don't think the narrative treats Osea as unconditionally good. Actually I think earlier versions of the script probably focused on their shortcomings even more. There's too much of an irony to Osea treating live people as like they're disposable drones that doesn't get acknowledged. And there's Avril's early rants about Osea that never really gets followed up on narratively. Actually considering the intro to Mission 20 I think at some point, very early if ever, there was going to be a split in the campaign where you can either stay with Osea or defect to Erusea. Either way, eventually the satellites go down and you band together to fight at the space elevator so the story always ends the same. There's just too many early plot threads about Osea not caring about civilian casualties, falsely convicting randos and sending live people to their deaths in suicide squads that then get completely dropped when you join the LRSSG.
>>563351343>IRL if a space elevator were to fall it would almost be like a catastrophic meteor strike. There's a lot of mass high up with plenty of time to gain momentum as it falls.a space elevator, if severed at ground level would not "fall" to earth, it would spin off into space

>>563385570Given the tone he's using with these last few updates, with the exception of the one where he talks about health issues, it seems like the thing might be like 80% done already, the only thing is making me doubt that is the one where he does talk about the health issues, but the way he speaks about it in the rest makes you feel like it might be ready for release next month.
>>563407470>Grunder is reputationally and financially ruined by bankrolling and actively developing products to aid international terrorism/instigate a forever-war>General Resource swoops in and absorbs what's left>A McDonnell Douglas-Boeing situation takes place where Grunder's corporate culture (i.e. rampant, subversive Belkan nationalism/revanchism) overtakes General Resource>The FCU-Sotoa war is, through corporate mergers and proxy arms deals, still somehow Belka's faultI can't say the idea hadn't crossed my mind.
>>563408223If GR was Grunder levels of competent you'd not have gotten those weirdos in Neucom getting so powerful. Especially with how many GR R&D people seemingly defected to work for that company
>>563412709What if the other half of Grunder was bought out by Neucom? Recontextualizing the Intercorporate War as not just two megacorps ruining a continent, but as two philosophical/religious branches (muh Belka Uber Allea) having a retarded schism on a completely different continent than where they were founded. Also Yukes and Oseans did nothing wrong, gas the Gray Men NOW.
>>563414479Neucom DID need to get some engineering chops. Although they might have bought out those uh... whoever made those random AC3 looking planes in ACX to get their engineering knowledge.I presume GR bought Grunder's AI Division but Simon stole all the data and used it as the base for Nemo (and had all that delicious training data from ZOE to feed to Nemo) when he did his "Local Cuck Loses his Mind" arc

>>563431585because isr-belka was deeply embedded in osean military and governments
>>563431585Thunderhead was just glad to be rid of those annoying cringelords nagase and chopper.
>>563412709To be fair, GR and Neucom do basically have a milenia long galactic cold war that the entire ace combat series is basically the origin story for.
>>563430609He wanted his WSO dead and gone all this time and he finally got the chance to do it while getting a posthumous medal and promotion for it
>>563430609The game needed some cheap death to make you feel bad so he had to go
>>563437250There had to be a better way to do it in retrospect, I just don't know what they could do for it to have the same impact. Maybe making November City a bit more urbanized so there weren't any obvious uninhabited areas to land, or just not have the river running so close to the stadium?
>>563430609Because dying in a plane crash is way better than dying via drowning
>>563438108Probably bigger worry about coming in a low angle for the river possibly sending leftover ordinance everywhere if not plane debris. Nose planting into the center of the stadium which is empty just leaves everything in that stadium
>>563438108Making the crash take way too long to happen made it way too melodramatic and manipulative imo, I think it would be better that while after the people finally evacuated the stadium, maybe due to a slip in judgement for being too preoccupied on dogfighting over a populated area, Chopper gets hit and enters a unrecoverable spin, there could still be time for him to communicate that the ejection system is busted and he can barely control the aircraft but could still direct it to the stadium while also giving the miss that voice line. It would make that "this is war and it does not care about errors, anyone can die anytime" impact better and still maintain the stadium crash symbolism.
I am obviously very happy about a new Ace Combat, but now more then ever, i understand that the real hype lies in the work of Keiki Kobayashi and his OSTs. >>563453967The problem with Armored Core 6 OST is that despite the classic Kota Hoshino/FreQuency music still existing in the playlist, somehow FromSoft decided to put the subdued, background temp music on the forefront instead and it's the trend I notice they've been doing for a while now. I doubt PA will do the same in comparison, considering the music is one of the constant praises for the AC series.
>>5634623325 is the exception, not 04. 3's story was also pretty good and zero tackles a similar message to 5 but is a lot smarter about it.
>>563462332They knew they bit off more than they could handle at the time for 3's story which is why it never got properly localized, so they intentionally scaled back with 04 and went back to basics for the entire game.
>>563364923I had forgot about this one its old then they moved on to X-02's on a carrier and later something close to Aigaion
Now that I think about it, isnt this the first AC where enemy aircraft actually get dynamic bullet decals that correspond to where your bullets land, instead of a generic "damaged" texture that replaces the entire aircraft texture?
>>563465909I think it is its just shame those bullet decals vanish so quickly.>Its not like I wouldn't try and write something on one of those airships
>>563470061>>563470318Civil aviation is underrated. I really like Airbus planes.

Why is Zero considered the pinnacle? It feels half baked
>>563462332It’s really sad how 5 somehow became the blueprint for the franchise instead of 04 or zero. I think 04’s worldbuilding is also exceptionally good compared to all later titles, it’s simply unmatched with it’s setting and grounded sci-fi elements. 5’s whole belka plot is really bad, kind of incredible how zero managed to salvage all the tasteless belka “lore” 5 introduced.
>>563479294Mission wise it is kind of half-baked but the style is unmatched imo
I keep going back to these pics with the high altitude contrails. Some real Skycrawlers vibes.
>>563479294Mechanically it's like a refinement of 4 and 5.>return of the return line>Pixy and PJ are more competent individually than any single Wardog/Razgriz member>less gimmick missions than 5>less reliance on "blow everything up for half an hour"/score attack missions than 4>Ace Style and the GauntletI dislike how the tech tree is locked behind mission choices, so it's possible to go a whole playthrough without unlocking your planefu (F-16 my beloved). But after having played it I find it "wrong" to not simply beat it with Cipher's canon Draken and F-15C.Storywise it's like an in-between of 04's somber storytelling and 5's melodrama. I like all the stories equally, but 5's nadir is probably the lowest out of the three. That said all their peaks are fucking great, the last three missions of 5 are all a sustained peak of RAD
>>563479294There's almost no gimmick missions and 95% of bosses are air-to-air combat based. Nobody really says anything that's weird enough to make you cringe. The three ace styles are thought out and each ace boss matches the personality of their assigned style. 04 and Zero are okay. 6 has a fanfic story with the cringe dialogue that matches 5. fun gameplay but your allies are too good. 5 doesn't have any redeeming qualities. Blaze doesn't really do anything that stands out. Nagase is retarded and Bartlett hates her. Chopper died because he talked too much instead of dogfighting. The big baddie is some nothing-burger named ASHLEY who is a fucking Assault Record in Zero.
>>563479294Of the three PS2 games I think it's the most refined. Replaying 5 recently and having the triangle button reselect the same enemy 5 times even if the one I'm trying to target is right in front of me has made me realize how much nicer Zero is to play just by adding the boresight mechanic. The flight model's also better than 04, which has overtuned roll speeds on higher-end planes while yawing might as well not exist.04 is my favourite because it's quite simple which allows it to be tight and impactful while having a grounded, melancholic atmosphere to it that I really enjoy, but I do think Zero is the best of the three just in terms of gameplay, core mechanics and replayability.
>>563479294It wasn't too long ago that there'd be no question that you'd see most people championing 5 wherever you went.To state the obvious, that's just how it is with literally everything. It doesn't make me, someone who loves Zero, too much happier now that it's Zero's time in the public spotlight.Who knows how prevailing vocal consensus will shift again?
>>5634871265 probably has the largest appeal of the trinity because storywise it's the most digestible of them, if that makes sense. It's written like something you'd see air on Toonami in 2004 at 1 AM, if that appeals to you then you'll really like it. It also has a very memorable cast of characters who are all essentially military storytelling stereotypes cranked up to 11. Everything from the hippie who joined the military for some undiscernible reason to the asshole commanders, it's all there. I think that's why I don't like 7's story as much, personally, half the cast is just wasted potential. If you're making a story that's retarded and on the nose, you need good characters to make it work.
>>563484203>Blaze doesn't really do anything that stands outHe shoots down a spaceship, kills belka's top aces, stops the capital city from getting nuked, all while having to listen to nagase, chopper and grimm's gay bullshit all day every day.
>>563479294If more people played X it would be up there alongside 0 I think. It takes all the gameplay improvements made in 5 & 0, but with a story more the style of 4. And the branching paths from mission selection give the player an unmatched level of control over how the campaign proceeds, no other action games have that level of interactivity. >>563462332Kono is an art/design guy, so the story for each game is at the whims of whomever he (or Bamco) brings in as a writer. With 4, 5, and 7 that was Sunao Katabuchi, There is an obvious pattern between 5 and 7 which share the same tropes and flaws but to different degrees. 4 is the exception; based on what I've read it seems he was brought in to do the writing/visuals for the cutscenes of a story which was already completed 'in-house'. But for 5, and later 7, he was brought in from the start and given creative control over the whole script. This corresponds with criticism for the anime Katabuchi has worked on; which claim he does good adaptations of existing stories, but original works where he has more creative freedom are preachy or melodramatic, with plot-holes or inconsistent pacing.Unfortunately he is back to do 8 as well, but without the development hiccups which 7 suffered it shouldn't be any worse than 5.
>>563496396Problem with X is since it's meant to be a portable game most of the missions and really the whole campaign are very short. But also very replayable, I guess.I don't think they'll ever bring back X's level of campaign branching and revisiting locations because that was easy to do on a small game without crazy production, but it sure would be nice.
>>563496713Given the theme 8's going with about information warfare it'd be a good opportunity to bring some level of mission choice back. Nothing major, just along the lines of us choosing which part of a larger operation to support, or taking on one mission making the next mission easier/harder.
I like AC5Even the cheesy storyEven the gimmick missions
>>563479294It's because of how memorable its style and characters are.

>>563504882Also, the Japanese version of 3 is overrated and overhyped. And the only reason it’s held in such high esteem is because it was virtually unobtainable in the West.

>>563554364What the fuck is gook motherfucker smoking? PW has ZERO lore whatsoever, just vague implications and the worldbuilding outside of the main conflict might as well not exist. The setting is so underdeveloped it's insane. In fact I'd hardly call it a setting at all, certainly not one that could expanded into a sequel or prequel without fucking up what solid elements it does have. And unlike AC, PW doesn't have the excuse of having it's setting retconned like 5 times because it took them a while to really decide what they wanted this series to even be. And people will worship the ground this guy walks on just because it's muh indie project taking on the big guy. At least RB decided it was better to go radio silent than run his mouth on Twitter, I'd still prefer a statement about why the post launch support has been so delayed though. I'm not letting this clown ruin my enjoyment of PW or interest in Supermaneuver though. I hope that game is good.Christ what is it with some indie devs and writers having an ego the size of the moon? >>563590720Huh.I just realized I misread the tweet, I thought he was referring to the meme making people think that Ace Combat didn't have something to it other than the surface-level memes about Zero and whatnot, not that it made people think that Ace Combat *had* lore in the first place.FAN continues to be amazingly consistent at making me like him less and less with each tweet he makes.
>>563591126The guy worked on a relatively successful game, and that very game he was involved in was being compared favorably to its bigger original franchise, which he was inspired by. Naturally that sort of success will inflate one's ego a lot.

>>563609195The one where you have to sync your missile strikes with your allies so they all have the same time on targe. Fucking Wardog, it's probably the worst mission in the game. At least Pops' baby rollercoaster ride is mindless and boring and not just infuriating.
tunnel runs and staying out of the radar blobs are so unnecessary at this point and they're barely ever fun at all, I'd get rid of those
The guy that writes Sentenced to be a Hero took the idea from an unexpected place.>How did the original concept for Sentenced to Be a Hero come about?>Rocket Shokai: There's a game called Ace Combat 7. It includes several episodes where the protagonist fights as part of a penal unit, and I found that aspect of the story extremely compelling. It made me want to explore something similar more deeply, but within a fantasy setting that I personally enjoy.
>>563607084Feddies did nothing wrong
>>563613992Say what you want about PW's writing but Frontline 59 did a really good job making you wanna commit Total Cascadian Death. It really makes their rebellion look less like a noble cause against an evil empire and more like a total chimpout that's gonna send the entire world to Hell again. But the Federation does ultimately pull the trigger on that second apocalypse.
>>563613992Feddies are also assholes who rely on one nation too much (for resources and military manpower) and apparently treat it so poorly that they fomented separatism. Not that Cascadia's much better, literally selling their souls and the future of their country to some mercs just to spite the Feds. You know, maybe Crimson One was accidentally onto something. Maybe Calamity needs to come again and to restart this twisted game.
>>563607084The tone is louder and the slight music changemakes 75% of this. And by that it's bombastic, where base PW is a bit more subtle. It's good. The music is much better this time. The story itself is still a mess where characters talk about shit you have no idea about. Apparently something happened in Australia and it was a really big deal and this is why Cascadians are feral psychos. The dude who writes PW does the weirdest antagonists that always land with "....oooohkay.". It's so a shame too that people compare a badly written eugenic crazed thot with a "do it for the lulz" torres.

The only properly licensed Chinese plane in a video game I can think of is DCS's Jeff-17 because they got theirs through Pakistan.

>>563676408I don't understand why anyone needs permission from the Chinese for anything desu. How does something like War Thunder have a gorillion chink planes while DCS and other flight games can barely have one?
>>563676625Because War Thunder isn't a sim that models the real workings of critical components like radar, countermeasures and weapons, the chinese planes there are just 3D models with a tuned mig-15 flight model just like every other jet
>>563676625Entirely about whether or not the developers wish to seek out permission in the first place. DCS does it probably out of necessity for the sake of accuracy, PA probably does it because Kono is autistic (and makes it easier for the studio to laser-scan real examples of planes, in recent times). It's also about the laws of where the devs are based out of, and the attitude of the license holders towards unlicensed portrayals of their products. And, perhaps, Bamco also may see China as a valuable market and believes that treading into potential license disputes with the Chinese government is not worth the risk.Lots of different reasons.
Can't wait to see how much of the DCS F-35 will be completely made up I'll probably still buy it anyway
