I assume it’s easier for most to accept it just working like that for Eito when you’re already familiar with Saya no Uta and that Eito’s perception already being kind of a reference the shit with Retsnom and Darumi takes the reference all the way. If you aren’t familiar a guy gets his perception messed up and everything looks like a hell world to him that makes him start to hate everyone but then discovers a girl that looks normal.
