I don't want to hate Archie but I'm starting to actually believe it impaired peoples ability to understand these characters. Someone will say something that is blatantly wrong about Sonic or the world of the games and then it turns out to be an Archie fan who just never questioned their canon or is really obsessed with shipping. The Archie/SatAM group were pretty transformative OCs that bear little resemblance to their original counterparts (the small captured animals) whereas Fleetway stuck closer design-wise. That's why Fleetway's Sally looks a lot like a Ricky -- that was even Ricky's early name in the official UK Stay Sonic guide.
