We tried a new guy because he's an overgeared prot with prot as offspec but got melted multiple times by Vorasius soaks and also died on the first boss, our prot warrior is like 10 ilvl lower and can deal with all mechanics with no problem

What I am saying, is that the mechanical selling point of Evokers, in its inception, is Empower spells. And Empower spells are utilized significantly less than the mainstay selling points of most caster classes. Your average Demo warlock will get more Chaos Bolts than your average Aug or Dev will get with BOTH Fire Breath + Eruption/Eternity surge together, even assuming you use Tip the Scales on CD. Fire Mages will get at least double the number in Pyroblasts. Eleshams will get at around the same number in just Elemental Blasts or Lava Bursts which they are barely casting in comparison to Lightning Bolt or Tempest and they can easily do more of it moving as well as the same amount Instant. If you break down Pres healing, it is always dominated by Reversion and Temporal Anomaly - two spells that are either Instant, or have a short cast time/castable while using Hover. In the case of Dev, the majority of its damage comes from Disintegrate, or with Aug it is Eruption. Both spells castable from Hover, and affected by Haste. This is because the benefit of higher level empowers, does not outweigh the risk of standing still, or the benefit of using other spells in preference. I am not saying the spells are hard to get out. I personally do not find them to be so. I just find the overall design philosophy to be bad, and otherwise not quite comparable to their other options.

I use it all the time, I pair it with echo, I use temporal compression, flowstate and tip the scales to use it more effectively, and it is not a problem at all to utilize it. Its a fun spell to use and an integral part of dealing with heavy dmg, especially now that its got 40y range. The basic loop is all about this. You use bronze spells for basic healing, which empower your dream breath which loops back into bronze.I dont get it, its fine and fun.
