I really don't like how hard they've combined regional gimmicks and characters. Hear me out. It started being a thing around Fontaine (pneuma stuff) but it was fairly inconsequential. Characters still played as normal. Things got way worse in Natlan. Look at most of them: barely any interesting traits, no personal story, barely any conflict between them and someone else to drive something, barely any growth or change through their lives, most sq's are npc slop. Most of them don't even have actual personalities, to the point where writers just give them one singular gimmick/hobby that they abuse whenever they appear again for their annual cameo in some filler slop event.
