I just pay people to learn but it has cost me well over 1k in lessons and the most valuable part of the lessons is that im at least being consistent in art practice.

Just keep some of your shit around to see how much you have improved.

my advice is to remake your previous art or song multiple times to compare your new skill to your previous skill.

You may think you will never improve, but if you study and practice, you will improve.
And is a great feeling to realize 3-5 years later, wow, I can do shit much much better than what I did before.

And that's the moment when the hard work really pays off.

It's like a gym, you wont become huge in a few weeks, is a thing that takes years.

Same. It's unreal how fast time passes. Feels like just yesterday was February. A bit before that I was alone on Christmas just working on my game. And not long from that was April of last year, with me swearing I only need 6 more months to finish my game.
