>>563887428erm wtf is minceraft? sis? ?
Stoneblock looks really cool. Is there any reason not to play the most recent, Stoneblock 4? I would prefer to play a newer version since I learned on new versions.
Can yall rename this gen so us normal human beings can start a mmcg for people who don't want to play create/tech/power packs over and over again?
>>563892226I started it thinking it was a adventure pack but after playing for 10 hours, I think it's just GTNH
>>563893983>>>/mcg/

Finally getting around to doing the offices in the admin wing of my factory.Say hello to the new bureau chief for human resources
>>563864954Maybe a different kind of golden age. The fact that people are compiling their mods for multiple modloaders and often game versions means the version-chasing penalty isn’t as great as it once was. Which I guess is a good thing, new versions are more stable and possibly more performant than old ones, any anything Mojang does that is objectively bad can pretty easily be modded out.>>563872436Modern space aesthetics don’t really mesh well with Create. But I think there’s room for a dieselpunk space aesthetic, so long as you make the entire tech system match it.>>563879879They advertised it as being used for land-crawlers with conveyor belts as tracks, which probably inspired VS Trackworks. They also show planes flying, kinda hard to have those without landing gear, though maybe they require a flat surface I guess.
I decided to try stoneblock 2 after looking at some screenshots and I'm happy I did. This version has no tutorial and drops you straight into a cobblestone prison. My first reward bag dropped me this gun that fires infinite torches so that's pretty cool too.
>>563902709Good choice. I 100%ed stoneblock 2 (besides fluid cows....) and it was a pretty fun time. It's a nice condensed introduction/free play with a lot of good 1.12 mods, in a rather unique environment. Keep us posted. I like that torch gun and used it a bit in the mining dimension.
Are storage busses good for you? I heard they're tps inefficient, but when I'm buffering output from machines rather than crafting on demand, I don't see any other good way to handle this. Other than spamming level emitters and redstone control everywhere, but I heard that's not very efficient either and is also much bulkier. That or find and install whatever mod adds the ME level maintainer, which I know exists but I don't know what adds it
GTNH
>>563887428>problem: I want Human Villagesmy options are>Millenaire: solid but a tad bloated>Ancient warfare: nice city builds but incredibly bloated and buggy>Minecolonies: Patreon-locked nonsense and bugs, plus humans are just strategy game robots>MCA: also incredibly solid but replaces classic squidwardswhy can't their be a simple human NPC mod? that is all I ask
>>563904491what version are you in in general the best thing for tps is filtered cells in terminals and sending items into interfaces, but this is obviously not very practical for limiting things like how you'd want to unless you use level emitters, and those are very very bad for tps (unless you're playing exactly gtnh, because they've done some wizardry to make them very good)but, for most use cases and applications, storage busses are not going to kill your tps as long as you use them semi-smartly. if you use them only on drawer controllers connected to smaller sized drawer walls. ive been told about 10-20 is about the most you want to have on one storage bus. 10 storage busses on 10 drawer walls of 10 is much much better for tps than 1 storage bus on a drawer wall of 100 drawers.overall you really are not likely to feel the effects of storage busses unless you're very profoundly stupid with them (using a hundred of them, or using them on massive drawer walls).Import and export busses are the real plague, dont use those.
>nether gauntlet from BOMD is in modpack>complete fucking cancer of a boss fight>trap it inside obsidian box>it can destroy obsidian box>build even more obsidian on top of it to prevent escape>suddenly starts healing and would have fucking recovered all of its health if not for my netherite greataxe>takes forever to play its death animation after depleting its health bar>Now I have to re-mine all of this obsidian because I need it.Cheesy boss deserved cheesy tactics to be defeated.
>>563905260>what version are you in 1.12Thanks for the rundown anon>drawer wallsMy usecase is for buffering the output of individual machines, so it'd be more like 100 busses on 100 drawers. Sometimes directly on machines without a drawer when I don't care about buffering more than a stack. Do you think making sure I put everything in drawers and doing "10 busses on 10 controllers" would be better than 100 busses on 100 individual machines/drawers?
>>563907176>I don't care about buffering more than a stackyou should be able to limit drawers to 1 stack in 1.12, but i guess that would also end up with some in the machine too. I think it would be better if you manage a way to get the machines to auto-output into drawers, and have those drawers connected to a controller so it's more than 1 drawer or machine per storage bus. It shouldnt be too hard to do if you group your machines together. And the thing i mean with the auto-output you've probably seen and know about, enderio machines do it easily in that version.I dont think you'd really have that much lag with 100 storage busses on 1 inventory each, truly, especially if many are idle a lot (though each bus does increase the load of the network whenever there are updates anywhere, but whatever), but it'd be good practice to just be a little more efficient. Regular non-ae2 item transport will probably do you in before ae2 does, and entities like mob farms could too, so you shouldn't be TOO concerned about storage busses. sorry for rambling
I am slowly turning Meatserb into an Ultrakill level.
>>563904938resource pack the villagers to have human models
>>563904938>>MCA: also incredibly solid but replaces classic squidwardsthere should be an option in the MCA config to generate villagers as a mix of squidwards and humans.
>most hyped create mod of all time releasing in a few hours>thread too dead to even stay alivereally makes you think about ass
>>563916981It's not northstar tho
>>563904938>replaces classic squidwardsbut that’s a good thing, assuming it also replaces zombie villagers, witches, iron golems, pillagers, and any other big nose I’m forgettingtotems maybe
This is a bee.
mods for this feel?
>>563918132I'm going to shill my golem mod, change the recipe so you can craft the golem spawner.https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/carminite-construct>>563904938You can have both squidward and MCA villagers exist together, just mess around with the config.

Alright, time to get an Aeronautics modpack ready for when it releases.>For 1.21>Every mod I want is still in 1.20
>>563923089They should release it as a quilt and original forge exclusive
In 1.20.1, how would you modify ore generation? I found a mod for generating veins, but I’d also want to generate stalactites, ores lining caves, maybe even custom geodes. Being able to disable ores generating from other mods would be nice too.Are datapacks the only way?
How would you implement chimpanzees in minecraft if you have all the modder's freedom to code whatever you want?
>>563923667I would not implement chimpanzees in minecraft.
>>563901815>dieselpunk/retrofuturist space addon for create as a spiritual successor for galacticraftIt's all I truly want. I wonder why this hasn't been done yet. Northstar Redux is nice but it seems to be going more for a realism aesthetic rather than something unique and fitting with Create.
https://modrinth.com/mod/structure-generation-improver-(sgi-foundations!)Oh this mod looks nice, hope it works with flaot.>>563923667Ancient warfare / clay soldiers faction battles. You’re trying to build your house but all you can hear is the screeches of a chimp territory war from 5 chunks away. Jungles are supposed to be a green hell where you can’t sleep for all the infernal wildlife noises, after all.
>>563924112You can always retexture and remodel things, and change recipes. But the actual structure of the rocket may be hard to change. If you’ve got a system of air pumps for airlocks, those should be powered mechanically, not electrically. With conventional big brass/copper pipes.
>>563924140>https://modrinth.com/mod/structure-generation-improver-(sgi-foundations!)Holy fuck, I've been looking for a mod like that for ages. Just another thing on the long list of fixes modders have to make because Mojang is too busy addding one gimmick mob every 6 months.
When is psi releasing for 26.1
>>563924246Northstar adds solar panels but they output mechanical power which is quite funny. I wonder what you could replace them with to fit a retro aesthetic more. Some kind of stirling engines?
>>563923774but you have to
>>563919078Ender Storage
>>563924479Pfft. If it was about generators on the moon’s surface you could make solar concentrator towers that produce steam, but you’d need big radiators to cool it back into water again. If you had a very basic electrical system, you could use vacuum tubes with the photoelectric effect to create an electric current directly, but it still wouldn’t be compact enough for on a spacecraft. A Crookes radiometer? A more efficient rotary radiometer design using a phase-change fluid inside, with a hot and a cold side? Or yeah, a Stirling engine at that point. Are there any Stirling engines in mods that have a hot and a cold side? Thermoelectric generators yes, but I haven’t seen any Stirling engines that do this.Going all Anthrofutrism with a solar furnace making ferronickel on the moon’s surface could be pretty cool.
>>563923667>>563925725Here's my take>They can be given foods and they will give back their droppings (shits and bones)>They can be "tamed", only babies will listen to you and once it grows up, it will mind its own business>Chimps can fight with spears, which increase their attack range and damage output>Instead of being tamed, adult chimps have a trust mechanic, where they will protect you, but won't follow you around. That or whatever is in Neapolitan
>>563923667You can force chimpanzees to work for you in your Create factories. They’ll turn handcranks, move items to and from belts, etc. You can also assign them to typewriters where they spam random letters into written books, signs or display boards.
>>563927190>You can also assign them to typewriters where they spam random letters into written books,Or give them a wizard hat to make the produce enchanted books.
>>563923667Ambient mob, unless you got a gun mod then you can give gun to them to act as semi mobile turretThey have shit aim btw
tweaking the TOIMM while playing is some top tier shit, json recipes are one of these rare things mojank did right
>>563923667I'd host a multiplayer server and post the IP on 4chan
>>563929316You can change recipes without reloading now?
>>563930865only the server needs to be reloaded, I was comparing it to the 1.12.2 fuckery with crafttweaker when the entire game needed to be re-launched
>>563930927Yeah that's what I was referring to too, I'm not surprised it's gotten better since then because man was it exhausting to do packdev during that time.
>>563930431Making an NPC mob’s ai be informed by a neural network trained on 4chan server griefers could be fun
Has anyone de-troonified Nature's Spirit?
Will Aeronautics live up to the hype or will it crash and burn?
>>563932465Both.
>>563924140>doesn't work for flaot>arr so no github for feature requests>crashes when i try to edit shell settings to see if i can make the overhangs concaveaw man, guess i'll make a comment on the curseforge
>>563909178So sounds like the best option is to go for a middle ground, group drawers together into small batches to not have too many storage busses while also avoiding massive drawer walls. Makes sense.>sorry for ramblingNot at all, thanks for the perspective anon, I appreciate the insight.Really I'm just moderately annoyed that AE2 doesn't have a "native" way to keep something stocked, and instead you have to fuck about with level emitters, or restricted storage with a storage bus, etc. Interfaces are so great for everything else, but this one common usecase they're suddenly completely worthless.
>>563904491if you have computercraft you can automate it very easily, just check the amount in the network every 20 seconds or so and craft if it's too low
>>563904851this
>>563883952746> do (You) finish modpacks or just play one til you get bored and then go next?are the modpacks other than gtnh?
