I also kind of like it that way because it allows the player to see the story through a deeper lens than EVE does. Because EVE kind of has to state the obvious at a succinct pace for sake of moving a cutscene along, but the game gives a lot more information to the audience that shows off more detail, nuance and subtlety that could drag out a scene and make it overly long. It also requires the audience to pay close attention to little details rather than have everything spoon fed to them.

Is it really strange that I'd be happy if my favorite nikke was killed off in story, as long it was extremely memorable and emotionally impactful? I'd rather my nikke die peaked in story than to fade into obscurity/nothing. Despite saying this, I hate Pretty and what she did. I want a genuinely impactful death not a conspiracy or contrived death. Like a genuine foreshadowed ark invasion was being planned by the queen, for multiple chapters, a character like Laplace has decided to defend the ark in an impossible mission. Laplace kills off all high ranking raptures which forces the queen out to fight Laplace herself. Laplace, somehow fights toe to toe with the Queen, and is able to severely injure/cripple the queen causing her to go into hiding for the next 50 chapters. Laplace dies smiling knowing she protected the arc. The tide fo the war has permanently been shifted and Humanity is now winning. Humanity has begun setting up multiple bases and small cities on the surface. Laplace becomes what the goddess squad couldn't and becomes a true goddess of victory, they will erect Laplace statues all over the ark and the goddess of victory statue in the outpost will change to a Laplace statue. Cinderella will even go into a depression arc because of Laplace and constantly reference her. Drake's personality will change a bit. Most Nikke will have additional lobby quotes/advises that relate to Laplace. The app icon will become Laplace.
