I think they're doing a good enough job reviving dead uniques (in terms of quality) with stuff like foulborns, volatile vaal orbs, and with retouching certain uniques like Dark Seer, Wraithlord etc. Just need more of it.

I'm new to ARPGs entirely. POE2 is fun, I have about 100 hrs now. Mostly trying new classes and barely delving into endgame. But I keep having issues in terms of build theme. It seems like many builds are relegated to using the same abilities and despite their theme, end up playing very similarly. For example;I saw Disciple of Varashta and thought, boy the Djinni summoning sound really cool. I really liked the way it played too. Except as far as I can tell you're either stuck doing the ice explosion water djinn, or doing some combo of the fire/sand djinn + skeleton army. But the skeleton army is really goofy and doesn't fit the theme at all, and spamming ice explosions seems pointless when I can do it on like 3 other classes.Or, I saw Druid. I wasn't really interested in the shapeshifting, but noticed there's the Shaman tree with the Apocalypse skill and Rage casting. Like basically a WoW shaman using all the elements as a caster. But the consensus is that rage casting sucks cock and Apocalypse is both weak and basically pointless, and you'd have a much better elemental casting time on Sorceress.Then I saw Ritualist, and thought the class was super cool and thematic. But 99% of ritualist builds have nothing to do with being a ritualist and are just about spamming lightning spear. (I did find a cool bleed build i used for the majority of my playtime).Is this just the way POE functions and the game isn't for me? Or is this more a symptom of being early access and missing a lot of content still?

Your character barely feels like it improves through the whole campaign and then you can slap on some +level gear and be doing billions. It just makes the progression feel retarded and skewed toward and game. A better progression would have you feeling more and more powerful each level. This issue is compounded by the gems themselves not leveling with exp, the tree being weak, ascendancies being weak, and even gem level requirements gating off interesting build choices until the very end of campaign or even later because of spirit reservation The whole system seems to only come together when you are +10 gem levels and balls deep into good gear. Otherwise your stats might as well not exist
