Honestly, for me the funniest, dumbest, and probably worst part of 5.2.2 is that Sunagimo is RiGHT THERE. I'm not saying she should've been Wakki's love interest because honestly Giara should've just been a girl (and had some actual chemistry with Wakki), but it means the yuri option was available. What really puts it over the top though is that at the end Sunagimo is randomly written out. Like, imagine you're her. You gotta load your boat and everyone seems to be taking a long time. Then only 2 of them come back and are like "Giara is dead and Brian is actually a soldier and went back." She just missed everything and we didn't get to see her reaction at all. No closure whatsoever. It's such a baffling decision it's almost funny.

Irene despairs over losing Maria, while Bungo can only say “We will find the Great Yamawaki, snip!” then proceeds to do nothing. Maria’s issue was solved with her squad’s help, while Wakki just had to have her mePad hit hard on the ground so Tezuka can locate her? In the previous chapter despite all danger, 31-A especially Yuki, flipped out when Ruka was gone and prioritized getting her back.Maeda has been prone to writing terribly especially when males are involved, and it’s stupid to pretend he’s incapable of that. The way the self-insert guy dies wasn’t even heartwarming or pivotal. His initial calm and boring demeanor suddenly becomes stupid and irrational despite his attitude before. Not even he’s spared from inconsistent characterization. Maeda 100% deserved the albeit funny chink crashout over it. No wonder they don’t mention anything about this in later chapters, and why they pushed the demon Wakki stuff so hard due to destroying her reputation so badly. There were more appropriate candidates to awaken Karen who saw more meaningful or destructive deaths than Wakki and her 3-day-barely-any-interaction fiancé. Now we have to see “new steeled Wakki” from here on out? No amount of annoying self-posting is going to cover the fact that her personality just sucks now.

I find it especially annoying since I run without a breaker so Aoi needs to slurp up a lot of SP most of the time, Yuina helps a bit by offering some freebie totems + doing the devastation role and some attack buffs if required but I can't wait to eventually overhaul this team a lot.
