Doorman is possibly the most level dependent hero in the game, with gun build you get to not level bell at all, which in turn gets you to max cart earlier for greater pickoff potential, max door for better pushing and kidnapping and ult to just be annoying in teamfights. Most of his kit doesn't really need spirit at all. That all being said, i just don't feel his gun is good enough for it to be great. Its not terrible, but i've tried it a bunch (as i've tried a lot of doorman builds) and i feel like active item and bell spamming is just easier and yelds better results in most games.

Deadlock is such a weird fucking game, you've got a bunch of cool abilities and great movement tech that makes the gunplay and teamfights really fun to engage in. Unfortunately there's a lot of randomness with the cpu and it's like "hey good job on winning those 50 teamfights unfortunately you weren't doing enough PvE so now your base is fucked". It's like they couldn't decide if this game should be more about the control/CTF elements and PvE is what's important or if it's PvP that's supposed to be important

My biggest complaint about deadlock is that most abilities just fucking happen and you just have to sit there and take it, especially in the laning phase. You have some skillshots like grey talon's arrow or the celeste delayed AoE but when we're talking about stuff like Mo's aoe nuke or the various grenades and nukes you just either have a non-respondable area denial or you just have to take it. This game desperately needs additional skill-based abilities such as casting markers that you can respond to and semi-standardized movement abilities for everyone to gap close or dodge.

Items are just far more valuable on the gigacarries, so instead of being like dota where the period in which roamers are strong is actually quite long(At least it used to be ,I don't know how it is now) the roaming period for mid game in deadslop is just 5 minutes or so. After laning phase the nigger carry will get 2-3 t2-3 items and from then on the camps will dissappear faster and faster on top of waves giving even more souls. The real problem however, is that these giga carries are strong early, mid and just a statcheck win condition late. In dota you had to protect your carry and give him farming space and maybe even some kills to get him going. Though I'll still just advocate this game has too much schmoovement and everyone is omnipresent, as a consequence 90% of any conceivable strategy is pointless and every game is the same.
