Map looks pretty messy.

The rimworld logo cities are mine, meanwhile the area just outside my capital is contested by three hostile parties: mofumofu foxes, rabbit neanderthals, and impids. Thankfully, the foxes don't actually contest my capital, just outside it.

The sudden change was for two reasons. First, there were new settlements. But more importantly, it's because I started building roads. influence spreads along roads, so if you build a road out of your capital, yes the foxes can use that too to attack you.

The two settlements marked with a red star were recently captured by me. my next target is the green tribal settlement marked with a red star. if i can clear out at least one of the nearby territories that are constantly attacking, that would be a big boon

I'm attempting to do biotech wolfein even if it is scuffed as I don't know what i'm doing. Working on adding all the remaining ear/hair texture and deciding if i should add the ahoge to the ears texture. All the facial animations are working though.
Still playing around with the tail position. The eyebrows don't look very good quality wise and the head does seem a little big It is easy to find faults really zoomed in though.

In the end though, won't be able to do any of the genes and some of the fancier stuff. If anyone has any ideas/opinions let me know.

You can get honey by making a gathering bucket or whatever its name is near a bunch of flowers, it's very easy to get. There's a straw utility item to let humans gather honey too, I think you can craft it on a regular crafting spot.

next dlc is vehicles and is basically an expansion the odyssey type map to map gameplay with nomadic colonies

Mechs were top tier threats without shields too, Centipedes were already the tankiest enemy in base game that could individually take sustained fire from most of your colony for dozens of seconds before going down
Then royalty added cluster shields first which were fine, they were stationary and could played around and approached in multiple ways

Diabolus is trivial with kiting and that immediately unlock your mid tier mechs in first quadrum
I do it all the time and they are more op for the sheer virtue of their cumulative value.
Ranged shields I tried before but not sure from Oskar, but in experience they can only absorb shots from 1-2 raiders, with 3-5 raiders they easily get broken down, at most it just gives you a few extra seconds in a late game doom wave, utility overrated.

Just checked workshop for shield belts and yeah it seems Oskar one was the one I tried after all, and not some other shield mod. I was not certain in my original post like I mentioned.
To give some concession I would actually agree ranged shields would have been powerful in beta rimworld and rimworld 1.0, but now even if Tynan himself implemented ranged shield belts for pawns in 1.7 it would still be 2-3 expansion behind the mechanoid powerlevel escalation where you have walking super mechs that shield entire groups in a wide field.
Biggest reason beyond that as to why I don't think it is game changer anymore even in pure vanilla terms is because of the vastly expanded environmental and additional damage effects given to enemies each new dlc.
Here is what can bypass shields that are all new and did not exist for most of the game's life
>impid fire barfing
>biotech flamebows
>grasers/beams
>heat damage in general
>any source of acid damage (it is heat damage) be it flesh-maw spitters or larvas
>tox gas
What it works against
>standard bullet defs
>standard arrow defs
So basically entire factions like Impid and Tox boys laugh at the idea of ranged shields, mechs have their bypass via beams and specialized mechs, so that just leaves standard pirates and empire (if you fight them) as a slight counter to their mundane weapon lineup, that can arguably be spent on something universally better.
And this is just vanilla context. Mods love going for exotic damage types even more. (Moyo Cryo weapons for example)

The cost and ease of access could be more valid, but I think if I remember right, Oskar made it cost Plasteel, Steel, Components, which locks it out of early game, and from wider production mid game.
Beyond giving it advanced components. I don't think Oskar could have gated it more.

Tesseron and cyclops aren't as common as the rest. Though the ranged shield belt seem to not have the Buyable tradeability tag, it can still spawn in a quest. I don't particularly have any issues with that as you can get spacer weapons in a quest as well, but getting one charge rifle early still isn't as effective as getting a ranged shield belt.
The thing with shield belts is that when a melee guy attacks, the opponent will punch him back. Though protected from ranged attacks, he still has a chance of taking damage in melee. For gunners to have personal shield belts means that if the enemy can't break the shield, the gunner is virtually invincible. It's not uncommon at all to see a guy behind a chunk fight six pikemen alone and come out without his shield broken once, whereas he would've taken at least a few wounds without, which means pain, lowered stats, treatment, potential infection if it bleeds, potential scars, and other minor things that may snowball. The shield belt effectively removes all of that, especially if you're clever enough with managing the charge. If it didn't have the same recharge rate as a regular shield belt, then it probably wouldn't be so effective.
I could talk about it more especially with other mods also having ranged shield belt-likes that are more balanced in my opinion, but to be honest I don't really care about it either. I'd rather not try to theoretically rebalance a mod I will never use again. It's just one example of things in an oskar mod that's effective without introducing any drawbacks, I'm not saying that's the worst thing he ever made.

I added the content folders with my unagi modified ratkin textures to the limewire link, it expires in 5 days. This is how I have hyacinth ratkin working with unagi installed. I only did it because ratkin faces aren't xenolocked, can spawn on non-ratkin and it makes ugly faces on random pawns.

you dont need columns that close. a roof can be supported like 6 tiles away, so you could have a 13x13 room with no supports.

ignore roof area basically cancels the other two roofing commands. if you set an area to have its roof removed, the roof will get removed but the remove roof area will still be there until you set it to ignored.
