>>564499104last Ng+ I used the same sword with sunblight but with the 1h booster and ended up exclusively spamming jump or vanishing hollow into heavy attack.
>>564500120>1H boosterIsn't it a 2H sword?
>>564500120The Primeval Greatsword has some great scaling for a weapon you can get as soon as you leave the island. Also looks super cool.
>>564502126
>>564501565The 2h to 1h booster from Lyles bad blood code. Truth is using it the 1h booster actually also works on 2h swords as they are handled stat wise as 1h sword then.
>>564503849Ahh. How is the booster? Does it allow you to use 1H sword Formae with 2H swords?
>>564496710Best girl edition!
>>564503941Sadly not it also nerfs the 2h sword damage to be more in line with 1h sword. Still fun to use as you can do 2h sword primary and 1h sword as secondary
>>564504842That's a shame. Is the increased range at least better?
Human women are simply superior to revenants and here is whyRevenant women are simply incapable to consensual sex, I will now use the main cast to illustrate my point>JoseeWaits until you're asleep and rapes you, classic case of sexual assault, plain and simple>HollyLures you into the baths first, giving a false sense of security before she rapes you under the pretense of healing, clear case of deception>LouTraps you in the confluence where she attempts to rape you, fails, cries and then simply refuses to let you leave until you give in, kidnapping and coercionAs you can see, those filthy bloodsuckers are clearly untrustworthy.

So, now that everyone had their chance to play CV2 and probably replay CV1 - what game did you like more? Specifically>gameplay>builds>zones>narrative>charactersI assume with gameplay and builds choice would heavily fall into CV2, but what about story/characters?Hard Mode: don't let Zenon carry entire CV2 character score on his shoulders.
>>564508158>GameplayCV2>BuildsCV2>ZonesAbout equal?>NarrativeCV2>CharactersAbout equal
>>564505053I think the formae itself still use the original damage it's just the weak attack chain that's replaced. I think it has more reach than a regular 1h sword but without seeing the hitbox it might be just an illusion. You single wield it but the size is slightly smaller.
Holly saggers
>>564508158>gameplayCV2>buildsCV2, mostly because the weapon selection in 1 was kinda meh, rune blades really helped but I feel like more weapon types are needed still>zonesCV2 is kinda bland on this one but CV1 has some real stinkers but also some cool ones, it really just comes down to the scenery, think CV1 wins here actually>narrativeCV2, CV1 really just felt like you were holding forward instead of having an actual goal, guess it fits the theme of everything being fucked but eh, I like atleast knowing what I'm out there for>CharactersCV2, total Lou marriage, Josee and Holly were great too, its actually hard to decide between them for once, but Lou deserves it the mostZenon was cool but he really needed more screentime
>>564508845Holly Maid!
>>564508158>gameplayCV2, its just an overall improvement. Although I'd want to make blood code leveling a little less obnoxious, at least CV1 allows you to pretty much skip blood code juggling if you are willing to pay extra. >buildsCV2. Sequel obviously improved upon CV1 by adding more things to work with, without changing formula too much.>zonesHard to say. Honestly, while Open World isnt as obnoxious as it was in Elden Ring, it still added fuckall to the actual game. I'd hope devs will finally drop that meme and instead settle on middle ground of larger, but better thought-out zones, if they REALLY want that sense of scale. But if I compare "leady dungeons" of CV2 with CV1, its equal, I guess.>narrativeCV1, although I liked CV2 too. There's a lot to say here.>charactersCV2 is an obviously more character-heavy game which put a lot of effort into that aspect. CV1 is carried entirely by Io, and by a lesser extend Cruz's suffering. Overall I am positively surprised about CV2, and I was really sceptical during reveal. About reboot, about time travel. Surprisingly, none of those things were an issue, if you liked CV1 there's pretty much a guarantee you will at the very least enjoy CV2.
>>564511992Holy cute.
>>564511809As for narrative.-CV1 story is very simple, there aren't many plot twists besides that single one (which does not really change anything, really), but that simplicity makes story a lot more coherent and stable.-CV1 is leaps ahead in terms of worldbuilding, revenants also feel like a natural part of the world. There's a lot of effort to justify their presence and make them realistic. Same goes with crysal memories. CV2 revenants are.. obviously fucking literal vampires, translators should've dropped CV1 term. CV2 incursion also feels like something that was added "because we had those walking segments in CV1".-CV1 has a lot natural cross-character interations, something that barely happens in CV2, which really takes away from the overall feeling. Even during Spire heroes barely acknowledge each other's presence and operate in a vacuum, like what the fuck. In CV2 defence:-CV2 has a lot of really questionable moments, but during its top moments it truly shines. It a "higher highs, lower lows" situation for me, but I will understand anyone putting CV2 higher because of those.-CV2 also heavily improved on the whole "save the heroes" part, while in CV1 you basically slap successor's memories back and un-ash them, even though just a moment ago story treated characters as if they were dying. Devs obviously added "restoration" part after they finished main story.>no, Yakumo, your girl isn't dying, you already saw me reviving fox girl and that boyIt gets ridiculous by the last successor, when Jack feels like shit about Eva, and our entire team is just standing behind with "he does not know" expression.
>>564512465Yes. Holly cute.
Don't forget your beloved
>>564512940>CV1 is leaps ahead in terms of worldbuilding, revenants also feel like a natural part of the world. There's a lot of effort to justify their presence and make them realistic. And then you don't get to see 90% of the cool stuff they mention because of how awful the game's development was.Like, come on dude, why can't we run into some posh assholes wearing fancy bat suits or engineering nutjobs wielding explosive hammers? The only minor NPCs you see have nothing to do with anything interesting.
>>564514391How could I? Post-introduction to her, everything I did was for her sake.>Bonds End>wake up>see all my friends and my wife, Josee>Noah gets up in my grill and takes my handYes, thank you, Noah. I appreciate everything you've done for me, buddy. But right now you're literally standing between me and the woman I'm about to bend over every last piece of rubble in the Sunken City to break my century of somnolent celibacy with.
>>564515630Yeah CV as a franchise is clearly cursed with some absurd development issues, I wonder if its some usual publisher insanity. It's pretty crazy that both times teams (are they even the same people after so many years) somehow managed to pull off decent games, even if with obvious pitfalls.
Do your best, /cvg/...
>>564508158CV2 is for me Shifts reattempt of CV but with the feedback survey they did years ago in mind improving basically everything. The open world kinda sucks but the way they implemented it it's "OK" and the zones tend to be good. Story is just flat out better in CV2 with significantly less plot holes even when you take Valentin and Gobbo retardation into account. I remember Silver in CV doing EVERYTHING wrong he could do wrong yet not being seen as antagonist.
>>564515641>Implying Josee won't be bending you over.
>>564517796Silva was basically trying to do best with the hand given to them>letting the Lost out would be a massive problem because they are mini-Aragami that are impossible to kill and Aragami themselves are a problem in their own right, but keeping up the barrier is very costly>the Queen is extra immortal, the best they could do without a miracle was shoving it into whoever could take it until they could get a better solution (they eventually did in the form of Io)>Revenants need blood to not go nuts, but humans are limited in numbers and can only lose so much blood without dying; neither side can be favoured, but trying to appease both causes issues and a lot of blood has to go into maintaining the barrierThere's literally nothing he could have done better without foresight.
>>564519193shoving anyone they could find a BOR parasite up their arse and throwing them at the queen creating tons of lost seems pretty bad to me
>>564519379The alternative is the Queen just fucking killing everyone with no resistanceThis is on top of Aragami making Revenants necessary so that they wouldn't just constantly respawn and eat everythingThey were kinda just fucked on both fronts
>>564519570that's the thing. The queen would eventually walk into the aragami anyway. Unless they magically would have cooperated they were kinda doomed anyway. Reviving the dead and turning them potentially into beings of eternal suffering sounds like a much worse destiny than being just dead.
>>564520027The Queen would walk into the Aragami and kill them, but long after killing all humans around. Making more revenants had its consequences, but they did ultimately manage to survive by doing that. That beats just going "guess we'll die" and guaranteeing everyone's death.
>>564508158>gameplayCV2 but we are sorely missing alternate attacks and backwards bayonet slide movement. I think their boss designs got more creative, the bleed mechanic is much better than backstabbing 20 times to increase max ichor, backstabs are still overpowered but not as awful, enemy poise is less retarded. Ammo for Bayonets instead of Ichor is a bit shit but I'll let it go. Jumping was underutilised in combatCaveat - Game is way too easy, why do you infinitely resurrect on death? Infinitely resurrecting feels like some journalist cheat mode>BuildsCV2. I really like the choices of defensive tools and the jigsaw design behind attribute burden which is a great idea. Using bloodcodes as FFT jobs is good. Passives could have been more creative, there aren't that many which change how you actually play your character. Having your whole appearance be transmogged from the beginning of the game is soulless though, finding or unlocking different outfits was a missed opportunity>ZonesCV1's environment design was artistically dogshit, most of CV2's environment design is ALSO artistically dogshit, but is less consistent where there are a few set piece areas which look decent and a lot of very low effort open world slop that looks appalling. Game design wise they're mostly fine but don't often provide a novel challenge. It's hard to provide an interesting challenge anyway when the game automatically revives you on death and you get endless estus but I would have appreciated more standout moments which are real cunts to get past and feel memorable. Which novel challenging areas can you even remember? The one death pit room with the missile robot?>NarrativeCV2. I love how the time travel plot is used to make sure every major boss is a well established character instead of just a monster in a room that you've never seen before, this really adds a lot. Too much pandering harem bs though>CharactersThey need to stop trying to make a dating sim
>>564505167What if I have a rape fetish? Hunan women cant satisfy me like revenant women can.
Rank the CV2 girls babycrazy levels
>>564526332Lavinia will be rank 1 after the golden ending
>>564526332Both Holly and Josee are pretty family oriented. Hmm...
>>564522623the first destroyed city area with the sunset is pretty cool in CV. Crystal cave comes to my mind but otherwise. Level design was... acceptable, I liked the Cathedral but visually it wasn't really good. CV2 visually is sometimes a bit odd as they recycled the goth style indoor assets randomly here and there but the clocktower and sanatorium look really cool. The random futuristic military bases combined with the classic may appear a bit random but I liked it. Also why the fuck does Holly say not a single word about the huge ass miliary research facility under the sanatorium
>>564526332
>>564508158>gameplayIchor system is way better. Jails are way better than Blood Veils. Parry/Shield/Flash Step being things you have to equip and they affect your stats and aren't going to fit on every build is a good change. Revival system not getting interrupted every fucking time is significantly less frustrating. Actually getting to 1v1 bosses with the revival system intact is way better. They removed the shift attacks and dash attacks are neutered because you're meant to jump instead. Jump attacks are just kinda eh. Boss design is quite different. I prefer to be able to hit the boss more often than the break their shield and then you can hit them with a cinematic Jail attack, despite enjoying the cinematic Jail attacks. I would probably prefer the cinematics to be an actual Finisher between killing the boss and getting to the next story cinematic but the Ichor system relies on the cinematic to replenish you halfway into the fight. It's undeniable that CV2 is a lot easier than CV1 so I don't think it's as clear as day that CV2's gameplay is better. But I probably have to side with CV2 as well. >buildsCV2, and it's not close. >zonesCV1 has the Cathedral and CV2 doesn't have the Cathedral. I dunno but this seems like a big win for CV1. I love that CV2's open world isn't so fuck huge waste of space that you can't memorize the map the way you can in a linear game. They did a great job. But then the question becomes is open world beneficial to Souls-likes or not and given that CV2 did such a great job but I'm still asking the question of whether or not it was worthwhile. I have to assume the answer is no. >narrativeCV2 and despite my enjoyment of handshakes and Mido this is once again not close. >charactersAbout the same, both casts are excellent. Big selling point of the series is how consistently good they are at creating likeable, cool, fun and sexy characters you genuinely care about.
>>564522623>I love how the time travel plot is used to make sure every major boss is a well established character instead of just a monster in a roomexcept for the monster in a room in the webm ofc

>>564508158>gameplayCV1. Something about the movement and attack animations (especially jumping attacks) in CV2 feels stiff to me, and the Burden system makes switching Blood Codes less seamless than in CV1, requiring more annoying micromanagement of your Forma, Boosters, etc. each and every time I switched.>buildsCV2. It has more weapon classes.>zonesCV1. CV2's open world is just okay. While I appreciate some aspects of the time travel gimmick, such as the Village Beneath the Dam being revealed in the Present Era, or certain sections of Insula Carcere being only explorable in Free Exploration, it also adds some annoyances. Pretty much every single miscellaneous minor quest random NPCs give you is locked to Free Exploration, but there's no indicator they exist on the map. The likelihood of any given player not exploring the brunt of each region in the Hero Eras and Present Eras, and then sifting through them for a third time with a comb for NPCs is very slim. >narrativeCV1. Both games have familiar narrative concepts, tropes, and story beats. But since CV1 did these first, I have to credit it for originality.>charactersNo preference. CV2 characters generally had more screentime to develop them, courtesy of their respective side quests; but CV1's companions had less "overwhelming" personalities and subtler characterisation, Yakumo aside.
>>564718921>the Burden system makes switching Blood Codes less seamless than in CV1, requiring more annoying micromanagement of your Forma, Boosters, etc. each and every time I switched. Not allowing players to save build presets is a huge oversight.
>>564700429>Nya Ella Depression-kun Eldeer Bilge>Cat-kun SSR Raven Eyescar Crow-chanDid I get them right?
>>564718921the micromanagement is the gameplay
>>564700429good... uh, morning
>>564718921>and the Burden system makes switching Blood Codes less seamless than in CV1I find it pretty hard to get fat role. A stat being overburdened also has positive effects though the negative ones tend to be more annoying. Given that CV1 had like Noble Silver and uhhh... Noble Silver? as decent gear options ruined the whole build system for me.
>>564735213Yeah, I think CV1s micromanaging was just plain worse. Learning individual skills out of the Bloodcodes was boring. And if you were looking for a certain skill then you better remember which bloodcode had it. The amount of bloodveils that work with your weapon of choice always felt limited. CV1 also has 8 spell spots which I liked but that's a lot of options to micromanage.
