Dark Heresy has 1 problem - the vendor faction rep system is shit. It's split between a like bar and a fear/dread bar. You need to piss them off to earn certain guns, which is backwards imo. If you like the gameplay and want a specific weapon for a build, you need to sacrifice RP to min max.

Leveling in Wrath and Kingmaker feel much better than in RT. The flipside is that you generally have to know what you're doing with building a character. With RT you have to actively try to make a useless character, and even then gear alone will carry you.

So? There’s gear and bonuses only available on certain story paths/moral choices in CRPGs all the time. There’s lots of evil path gear like BG3’s Infernal Rapier or BG2’s Blackrazor. Hell there’s plenty of gear tagged to only work for good or evil characters or characters of certain races. Or think of the “sacrifice a companion to dark gods for a permanent buff” stuff that exists in a couple CRPGs. Or for another example, thanks to Mythic Paths WotR has tons of mechanical benefits that are exclusive to roleplaying a particular way. Currently you get 3 companions from Marisportum, while seemingly getting only 2 from the Spires, and based on the level you start at on the critical Aquatic Threat preset, the Spires aren't all that long, and I highly doubt they're facing a problem as large as "The entire bloody area is about to be swallowed by the ocean".
Most would likely choose to go to the place that gives them more companions AND is more likely to suffer greater damage if left for too long.
imo Owlcat would either have to put more companions into the Spires (or at least have both contain an equal number of them), or make it so that you lose out on something very desirable if you don't go to the Spires first.
All of this is of course based on the Alpha, so things might be very different in the Beta or the full game

RT has more loading screens and tedium than Kingmaker. That's insane to me. Current game is a fucking nightmare due to how DLC content is integrated with literal hours or shuttling between the bridge, loading screens, and bad Owlcat conversations at your desk.
