It’s not like Sony doesn’t have studios that specialize in console to PC ports with different engines, they have Nixxes that ported Death Stranding 2, Ghost of Tsushima to the Spider-Man games IIRC, and they even did the Rise of the Tomb Raider ports as well. I think the most impressive thing Bungie managed was to make a game that isn't fun at all to watch.Wow, I can watch the same people run the same loadouts, with the same builds, using the same meta, playing a ball-achingly difficult game, in a trio that's probably stressed out, not joking around with each other. I had a though during my morning shit. Everyone always makes fun of the Destiny new-player onboarding however one of the things that made it so compelling was the wide range of engagement levels supported. If you wanted to purely focus you had comp/trials or hard pve content/challenges, but if you wanted to just zone out and shoot shit you had a lot of avenues for that as well. I think this was the major draw and retention factor because it really enabled anyone to log in and have a good time based on how much attention they could dedicate to the game at any given time. Of course, there are other major draws to the game, but ultimately I believe this wide range of activities is what kept the Destiny population active and growing over time, which bungie has misunderstood and wrongly attributed to other things (such as their name alone). This is partially why we're seeing the response to marathon because it only has the 100% pure focus option and nothing for the casual players that want to just chill and shoot shit with their friends. I have a better time loading into the moon to do altars of sorrow than I ever will in current day marathon.tldr: bungie is retarded. Sorry that happened or happy for you

I like the idea of the Invasion Double-Cross, but moreso just the ideo of 1v1 on a big map, no abilities. Because a lot of the Renegade abilities just trivialize the match. Otherwise, it makes me feel like I'm hunting down Dredgens, which is fun.

As much as I love my hammer build it’s easy to acknowledge that D1 was a gun first ability second game. The overall damage output was lower and loot had better distribution which created a very balanced formula.The game was tight and loose in just the right areas. If you wanted to reach max rank you needed to raid no exceptions, no pussy “prime” engrams or whatever. Pseudo-exotics with very lucrative perks could exist because of the lower overall damage output, they were also the only elemental primaries. Again if you wanted them you needed to raid. Guns, especially exotic guns like Icebreaker and Red Death, had real value.Simultaneously you could get exotics from any activity with also the strange coins to buy them. That made legitimate incentive to grind strike and PvP playlists especially Iron Banner.Heavy ammo was coveted. Also no health gating. No double special.
