There is also Sylvans which remind me a bit of Vanquish Soul in the sense that you needed to work off of what you excavated and tailor your lines by stacking cards on your deck in the correct order. Really fun play style. I do think decks nowadays have a pretty high skill ceiling in a different way since the game is now more about using varied quick effect interruptions to play a tempo game with the opponent. Combos used to not be as efficient as they are now so setting up a strong board through interruptions was the skill expression. Actually using them was a no trainer since you made a board of negates or just a towers. Combos being easier but interaction being harder is much more interesting imo. Just take your pick as to what you think is more intensive.

i've been playing KT the last couple of days and man do i have to admit it makes me feel like a brainleti feel like i have a way to respond to every situation but figuring it out is very tricky, every detail matters, from chain order to what specific cards you search or summon in specific momentslike i almost lost a duel because i didn't realize cue only summons from deck when normal summoned so i should have summoned mix then added cue to hand off remix to get the searchseeing your opponent's hand is cool but you need to know exactly how and what they can play to use the knowledge effectively, to give you an example i just lost to a stun player because i played around his lightning storm, negated inspector and destroyed his clockwork night then he proceeded to dab on me with a fucking typhoon (which i could have sniped from his ED but didn't account for)every synchro has specific conditions, not everything can be used to synchro from the hand, many synchros have specific materials, getting to summoning B2B is actually tricky as fuck depending on what handtraps the opponent has and where he uses themthis deck is unironically big brain shit, you gotta predict the game status 2-3 moves ahead, only now do i realize that the deck doesn't do shit "for free", it actually has lots of bullshit conditions you have to play around
