So here's the deal with FD. You can cancel normals into FD during their startup, so unless you press both button truly simultaneously you're actually getting a normal and then cancelling into FD. On the ground / when blocking generally the FD macro is preferable as it avoids this issue, though there are still cases where you want to make use of this behaviour (superflash reactions, 6P FD OS). In the air it's faster to cancel an air dash into FD manually than my using the macro.

The difference is that +R and Rev 2 had to be purchased separately. It's a different monetization scheme. It sucks and I definitely prefer the older model where you get a full game with your purchase, but it's an effect of the enshittification of video games as a whole, not limited to just fighters.

Oh yeah, even ignoring the direction issue, all anti-airs work on hitbox interaction basis, meaning that their jump-in can easily beat or trade with your anti-air if it hits deep enough. 6P is especially dogshit for actually anti-airing since most of them hit in front of you instead of above you, meaning that they only anti-air people airdashing towards you and do jack-shit to anyone actually jumping over you. Then you have airborne specials like Megafist and Bandit Bringer which are straight-up designed to beat 6P. Anyone saying the game has consistent anti-airs is lying through their teeth. The only consistent anti-air in the game is instant air-throw.

Anti-airs beating out air options is what it means to have consistent anti-airs. There's nothing necessarily wrong with having inconsistent anti-air options that don't work on half the aerial options in the game, but it would be wrong to call those options consistent.
Many games opt to have anti-airs that are straight-up invincible against aerial attacks after only a few frames of start-up. You can still bait these moves and have anti-anti-airs by for example having air stalls and such that make a mistimed anti-air completely whiff, but it means that the anti-air will beat the aerial move instead of trading or flat-out losing to it because "lmao my jump-in is disjointed". And of course, most games have anti-airs that actually hit above your character instead of hitting in front of your character so you have some way to prevent people from jumping over you.

your 6P is going to win against jump buttons in this game unless you timed it wrong. They are incredibly consistent as long as you aren't stupid about it. Some of them have amazing vertical reach and some don't. Know where yours hits and it'll work consistently.
There are characters with extra anti-airs that hit directly upwards, however you'll notice that those moves tend to not be large enough to catch double jump since that's just movement. You beat this by moving. If someone double jumps, they can't airdash anymore, so simply taking a step forward puts them in your threat range as they fall and you can easily hit them.
If you don't actually know how I'm jumping at you, you deserve to lose.
This would be like making all fS moves reach fullscreen to prevent people baiting a whiff by running forward and stopping. That's what a double jump does.
Making moves completely immune to air attacks is a poor balancing decision since it just makes anti-air moves god even for people that suck at timing. If you can't get the hitbox out in time you deserve to lose.

This patch, if not for Happy Chaos, he would be top 1 and it's hardly even close. Him losing such an insane c.S antiair and still being this busted is just puts into perspective how insane he is now. And I've fought the best Nagos in NA this patch and it is just retarded how they get away with bullshit that should get him killed for. You use a single finger. You just press 6, 2, 4, 6 individually fast. You could in theory slide your finger and then press 6 at the end, but that has the risk of missing the 4. You only need cardinal directions, but you must have them so 6246 counts but 63216 doesn't. I think people missing the last 4 because your finger hasn't yet let go of 2 is what fucks them on leverless, which is why the single finger strategy actually works surprisingly well.

More specific advice from when I learned it:
It should be easy to do on one side, the side where your ring finger is on forward (usually P2). Literally just half circle then press forward. Half circle just needs to be pressing all three buttons in sequence, practically pianoing them. It's not hard to do crazy fast.
I found a lot more trouble doing it on the other side, because I was missing the 4 input. Your hand isn't symmetrical and you don't have direct control over your ring finger, which can make it hard to lift your finger off the ring finger button after your middle finger. Literally just doing it slower is the simplest and most universal answer, especially when doing a it out of down-back. The specifics of your controller can also help. On keyboard, I learned to sort of roll my hand to the ring finger side to help. On a controller with arcade buttons it's easier because travel is shorter, and you can slide your fingers off the keys rather than lifting to time it more reliably. On a controller with keyswitch buttons (Haute, Snackbox, etc) you can't do that easily for various reasons. I really wish there were more leverless controllers with sanwa/equivalent buttons, I do think they're better.

afaik their actuation depth is still longer than sanwas. 1.2mm for the razer switches whereas sanwas are sub 1mm. Though I can't find the exact value for sanwa's actuation depth now so I'm going off a vague memory there. Also genuinely, having the lip on arcade buttons makes certain shit easier to do, in particular anything involving sliding your fingers off/on buttons.
Personally I play on a wooting keyboard these days and arguably the theoretically best controller; analogue keys can have EXTREMELY low actuation depth and the rapid trigger shit makes the long total travel irrelevant. I wonder if we'll ever get hall effect buttons on a dedicated box but afaik the sensors need to be built into the PCB so who knows.

If you only have quarter-circles, the amount of specials you can have is significantly limited, especially if you have a system where the same special has different strengths. Adding in a specific buttons for specials brings in a whole host of other issues as you can observe from 2XKO.

The idea is that the time it takea to input that DP would add to moves startup frame. This was back in an general era where inputs were inconsistent, game logic frame timings were inconsistent (turbo speed), inputs weren't solid due to controllers or the game etc. Then time went on and player side trends and habits changed so that 3/4 frame DP that had a hidden 1-3 frame additional startup duebto inputs became effectively a true inside and out 3/4 frame DP. 6P was still strong in older games and had higher reward due to extra gatling options. It's mainly the 5P anti-air that were weaker due to actual disjoint on jump-ins. There were also often other strong anti-air options that have been nerfed in strive since they'd be overbearing against the slower airdash speed. You stay on the ground because jumping carelessly at the opponent will get you hit for massive damage, and/or pushed towards the corner.
If you're feeling cute, and try to hover near or above your opponent, he or she can very easily jump up and air grab you for free, which is extremely bad for your chances of winning.
If you have the means to execute a lot of shit in the air, in most airdashes (including guilty gear), you can't block grounded moves without using meter, you can't do infinite air movement resets, and any given time the opponent is under you, he can JUMP UP AND AIR THROW YOU FOR FREE.
You would interact with the other character because it has an air throw, and because blocked air attacks inflict very gay recovery on you so the opponent gets to fuck with you when you're back down on the ground, and because meter defense creates more space between the characters, limiting the degeneracy of the air.

Getting rid of negative penalty would be a good thing though. If you want your game to be aggressive, then you should make characters play like that instead of slapping on a penalty if they spend too much time "playing lame". Literally a mechanic that fucking Smashfags inserted into their game, should tell you all you need to know about how good it is.
