You will think i'm schizo if you haven't experienced it yourself, but there is a shadow fake-gold league where every match is in the silver 3 - gold 1 range but all the players are plat+. You get placed in the shadow gold league once the game detects that you are only playing 10 games per season to get the gold reward skin and it's purpose is to force said players to play more than 10 games per season by artificially lowering their rank to silver 3 for a while. It's able to maniuplate the matchmaking even easier than normal since it can just pull a few real silver players into the match to sandbag your team

This season has been so much more difficult than the others, and I think it has to do with the bad-balanceflation finally coming full circle.
